My concern is that he only means it won't be sequential like past years. I want random names/ratings/colleges...everything. The way it is worded it sounds like they could have 30 draft classes but they'll be randomized instead of sequential order. But the class population will remain static.

I personally don't really care if the 30 draft classes are completely random or not so long as other users I can't control can no longer game the system, putting me at a disadvantage because I choose to not read said guides. Fairness is my biggest concern.Comment

They have only gone about this by increments. They introduced some alternate outcomes for some story line players, and created some randomized potential ratings for a subset of non-story line players in the draft last year. Looman said that would make the draft guides obsolete last year. But it didn't.
Taking the structure from last year and allowing any of the 30 draft classes to appear in random order will not solve any of this. The only way I can see they could solve it would be to let go of the story lines.
In that case, you could randomize names and ratings for any draft class. With how much Looman seemed to be enamored of the whole story line feature, I doubt they let it go.Comment

Re: Was/has there been any franchise info released?
And their "fix" did more harm then good. By introducing a random element it resulted in messed up ratings. I got a CB rated 88 strength. The draft classes actually got worse this past year. Way to go EA.
I really hope Clint was being sneaky and in two weeks or so will come out and say guides will be useless because of the edit draft class feature. But I am also hoping to be captain of the starship Enterprise.Comment

Ex: Have a one and done, roulette set of storylines for each position, draft projection, etc. then fit the storyline with the appropriate positional (a low CTH rating could fit into a storyline about a player that dropped a couple of passes at the Combine), and universal ratings (a low INJ rating could fit into an injury prone storyline). Then you would just have to adjust the code to insert a random player name, picture, and school.Comment

Re: Was/has there been any franchise info released?
Looks like I'm sticking to my PS3 and Madden 25 with created rookies for another year. As much as I like the defensive improvements, I'm more of an offline franchise guy and enjoy rebuilding teams. I was hoping for this so I can have the actual 2015 draft class. Plus at this point, it seems there will be no vast improvement to it so Madden 25 and the PS3 it is.Comment

Re: Was/has there been any franchise info released?
I'm okay with the old games, the new madden was gonna be the game that pushed me to get a PS4, but I'm not interested spending close to $500 for a gamble that EA has put together a good game. I think that everyone is over looking the fact that this game could very well be loaded with bugs and glitches, they are re doing the whole game play and what not, first year could be rough.Comment

A practice squad would be nice. It was in Madden 12 PSP, but never since. Really?

Glimmer of hope for CFM....
Regarding EA being aware of flawed draft classes......

@DiegoMB27 @ClintOldenburg Hey man. Yes, they know. That's one of the big issues we've discussed with them in our feedback sessions.

@DiegoMB27 @ClintOldenburg Not just CBs, but SS, FS, HBs, FBs as well.

@DiegoMB27 @ClintOldenburg Oh yeah, WRs too. I passed along some stats of one of my draft classes to demonstrate the point.
Big props to MadScientist for answering my question too, he wasn't even tagged in my original tweet to Clint. Cool stuff! Hopefully the new draft classes are much more realistic, given the lack of options.Comment

But you would think..it is easier to have edits..then them try and fix it.

I don't think anyone argues that.... But since it was already confirmed editing is not in..... better draft classes gives some hope for a playable mode.Comment

Agreed but my worry is the past at which they have done this..their history tells me that getting class right is small %..but hope is all we have

Re: Was/has there been any franchise info released?
They can maintain the storylines and just randomize the players names, and schools.
Then you would just have to adjust the code to insert a random player name, picture, and school.
Randomizing the players' names would require code to plug the random names into the draft tweets and audio during the draft that records the full possible range of fist and last names.Comment
