the game won't release any earlier
Anybody like me that really wishes they would go back to the early August release date?

I hate the fact that the game comes out so late and just over a week before opening day.

A trophy case would be a neat idea as well, sort of like past Maddens had where there would be a plaque on the wall with a Lombardi Trophy on it and your team's record (can't remember the year)

In fact, a year or two ago Madden would save every score from every game of every year you played in franchise mode, so in a roundabout way you had each SB saved, with the stats and scores. All you had to do (on Xbox 360) was hit RB/RT to toggle the season in the league schedule window and it would let you choose from any of the seasons you had played in franchise mode. It was not that long ago... maybe 2-3 years ago. I found it on accident, so it wasn't very user friendly. I have no idea why they took it out (memory maybe?).

      Anyone else remember this?

They took Brett Favre's retire, unretire, retire bit way too serious. Favre has been the only player that has done that, every other player who has retired, has stayed retired. I hope they get rid of it and either give us the option to buy a retirement package to keep a guy for another year or just continue to let us change a guy to a Punter in the off-season to keep him from retiring.

You never know, with the discontinuation of NCAA that's something I could see happening.

They needed the full cycle for sure this year but maybe next year? Fingers crossed.

Also, EA disclosed in their investor call that marketing expenditures were down significantly. I don't remember the actual numbers, but they were significant. Also, let's not get carried away with what the game changers say. I think we've learned our lesson with that - especially with the one who is posting that information. I'm sure they worked on it, so we will just have to see for ourselves to see what kind of changes there are.

Say what? How do you change a player to a punter in the offseason? It only lets you change a player to relevant positions.

They must have took that out then. I remember in Madden 10, 11 and 12 that if you simmed a franchise and looked at the retirements. That from there basically if you did a 32 team control, you could go back and change those players to a Punter which kept them from retiring and they would stay another year.

It's absolutely gross. It makes me sick when I see Ditka, fully young 45 year old Ditka, come out of retirement. It makes CFM some kind of unrealistic fantasy mode. It would be better if we can just turn the entire feature off.

He only came out to coach correct? I wish they would be able to strike a deal with some of the big names in college football to use in CFM. Then again, just the ability to create a coach to put in the FA pool to be signed by any team in the off-season would just be as good.

They will be revealing the CFM info soon, there is plenty to reveal as well. Let's all remember that previous to the M25 release on next gen there were plenty of complaints about them "over saturating" with news and "hype". They are obviously doing things different starting with the next gen releases. We can't have it both ways

I believe many will be impressed with the CFM changes they will be announcing. Whether they announce it at the end of July or beggining of August... the game won't release any earlier

just saw this posted over on EA madden forum posted by a game changer... so sounds me they did more then just fix practice.
This has me really intrigued to see what changes they have made to CFM.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The stats and the completely disconnected feeling from game to game and season to season is a legacy issue for Madden. I really want to have faith in Madden 15 and really want to play it day one. That said - I am going to wait it out and unfortunately I have a terrible feeling that offline CFM is going to be relegated to the back burner as Ultimate Team becomes the cash cow.
It's sad when winning the Super Bowl hasn't been an achievement in years.

I think it'd be better if they used fictional guys instead of legends at least when it comes to coaches. Maybe some sort of storyline, similar to Chip Kelly, where a coach is the hot new thing that brings some kind of unique playbook to whatever team hires him or what not. Don't name him Dip Belly and make him some kind of doppelganger of a current or former coach. Get creative and make something interesting. An old school coach that believes in the Wing-T. A new age coach that believes in throwing 60 times a game.

But agreed, the coming out retirement stuff is pretty ridiculous and should be taken out or at the very least have an option.

I agree. The best year was the year they released it on the hall of fame game. They said the move was to keep it closer to the opening of the football season. I think it was done to help the NCAA sales that were dropping.

I wonder if the later release date has hurt their sales. For one, summer vacation is over for most kids late August. The fall is usually pretty busy for video games. And the excitement for football in general is usually the highest when preseason begins (everyone has high hopes and just excited to have football back).

Yeah, I think no doubt they did it to help NCAA sales. And I don't know if it hurts their sales any but I would highly doubt it helps at all. For me, I get the complete football juice at the start of mini camps and like right now, where we're less than 2 weeks away from training camp I would be in full Madden mode right now. But there's still a month probably from the demo (if we get one) and a month and a half from release. Hopefully with the unfortunate demise of NCAA, they'll move it back up to the first week of August or something. I don't really see how it could hurt.

And also for me Sundays are big for playing video games. Especially this time of year with only baseball on tv. Come football season I hardly play video games on weekends.
