Don't name him Dip Belly and make him some kind of doppelganger of a current or former coach. Get creative and make something interesting. An old school coach that believes in the Wing-T. A new age coach that believes in throwing 60 times a game.

But agreed, the coming out retirement stuff is pretty ridiculous and should be taken out or at the very least have an option.

To piggy back this..was it Head Coach were retired players sometimes became coaches? Or did they also do this in Madden? Because to see Ray Lewis, etc coach wouldn't be bad..but then they would have to also have OC and DC..to also fill void of coaches etc..which leads me to question..assistance coaches they in a union?

Same. I remember a couple years back they had a thing about how down Madden playing numbers were on Sundays during the season and it's the same for me. I don't hardly ever play on Sundays, it's football day lol. Same goes when the game released earlier, I remember there'd be times where I'd be a season or two in by the time the actual NFL season started which was always fun. Now I'm lucky to have a good settings base by week two or three.

Not sure if HC had it as well but I know Madden had it back in 2004 and possibly earlier. My favorite part about that was that their ratings would be tailored to their position and if they were your HC, OC, or DC they'd give boosts to those positions. It was cool.

Yep this on M12 I think. I hired Mark Brunell as my HC he gave my QB's +3 AWR and +1THP. I also think some of those guys came with decreases as well.

Yeah, would love that back, but with XP influences (+/- a % perhaps) rather than outright upgrades.

That's the thing they have had so really good ideas..just never kept with the follow through..or cleaned them out to make them better..but I'll stop as we have all harped on that

That's an excellent idea, rather than some temp boost to a specific attribute maybe a 5–20‰ xp increase or penalty. Basically illustrating the coaches ability to influence progression over a players career. Progression that doesn't just disappear when said coach takes a better offer elsewhere.

To piggy back this as well..certain coaches should "draw" players and certain coaches should "scare" players in FA..even created coaches (there should also be more options for type of coaches when creating coaches) needs to be expanded on..

Hire a Head Coach should/Could increase AWR & Knowledge. Hiring a new Head Coach, OC, QB Coach should not increase Throwing Power. Maybe help with accuracy, but not much.
A QB is who he is when it comes to Arm Strength. Accuracy can be worked on, but haven't seen an inaccurate QB magically transformed into a pinpoint passer.

They will be revealing the CFM info soon, there is plenty to reveal as well. Let's all remember that previous to the M25 release on next gen there were plenty of complaints about them "over saturating" with news and "hype". They are obviously doing things different starting with the next gen releases. We can't have it both ways

                      Buck_i_Nation

I believe many will be impressed with the CFM changes they will be announcing. Whether they announce it at the end of July or beggining of August... the game won't release any earlier

just saw this posted over on EA madden forum posted by a game changer... so sounds me they did more then just fix practice.

Yeah, we'll see, we've been down this road before. Keeping it level!

A Coach can retool a QB's throwing mechanics and footwork and make a QB much more accurate. But that usually takes time and the player has to be willing to be coached.

Yes, adjustments that can improve accuracy, but not a fix for an inaccurate passer.

I could write a book but instead, I'll just say a few things.

                            1. Personally, I wouldnt have anyone coming out of retirement period. Instead, I would give you the option to convince a player not to retire ala Jordan Gross and Tony Gonzales. If they decline your offer, they're done. Since thats not going to happen, there should be a yes/no option for players and coaches coming out of retirement with the team that retired player/coach is going to, his age, contract offer, etc. This way, if see Ray Lewis coming out of retirement and going to a division rival or crappy team like the Jaguars, I can say no and keep his career, legacy and history withe the Ravens intact.

                            2. Instead of practice or learning the game of football or whatever, bring back mini-camp by blowing it up and calling it training camp instead with an included tutorial that has an on/off option. This way, everyone wins.

                            3. All I really want is for schemes to be 100% gone or for there to be an on/off option so the ratings on the roster menus match in-game.

In my opinion the last good Madden franchise mode was 2005. When they had the radio show, the news paper for every team (as well as national) and weekly game plans. It would also show the division record for each team in the beginning of the game. The older model was a more genuine simulation of what really happens in NFL. There's an issue with staff, is it me or do offensive, defensive or special teams coordinators not exist in recent versions of Madden? You use to be able to hire fire and promote staff. You could even hire someone's coordinator to be your head coach (like real life). Franchise needs to bring back these simple but key features. The season isn't very interactive at all. You don't really have a feel for who is having a breakout year or what type of team you're facing, there use to be a morale factor to the game; players complaining about not getting touches (like real life) they'd miss camp to do a movie or a holdout. There is nothing to offer other than playing thru seasons and roster management. I rather have those aspects of franchise back in Madden then gauntlet mode.
