Yeah it was a pile up and players swarming, like in another video but the lack of interaction animations makes it unpolished. I could explain further but whatever, people either get what I'm saying or not.

Also at the tail end of that video, Rex states that there are changes to CFM "mainly" focused on CFM practice. Then he goes into some detail about how practice is now more realistic, being on an actual practice field, with individual workouts. That's cool and all but it's making me think that the focus of CFM for M15 was fleshing out practice, while again neglecting the player management issues, similar to what they did in M25 when opting to add a "Tycoon" mode.

Regardless of all the good sim things the gameplay and presentation guys are claiming, it's starting to seem like those working on CFM are still freelancing. We'll know more when CFM news drops.

Take a look at the play at 3:01. WTH is Trent Williams the Wash LT doing there? He's not blocking anyone and it looks like he is kind of bouncing around next to JPP. I see this same issue in M25. Also, I see that the synchronous animations are still in the game. Eh, once again, I hear all of these things, and yet the improvement does not show up in the implementation. It's gotten to the point where I guess we accept that football is just too hard for this dev studio.

OK, I saw this vid before. Not enough interaction for me but the resulting pile up looks good.

Like I said the other day this is just phase one, they're building towards real gang tackling.

No more "building". It needs to be in this year. It's 2014 and we can't have realistic gang tackling? I'll repeat that again. IT IS 2014!

That'll be phase 1 done in year 5 of a 3 year plan.

If they would have fixed Pro-Tak instead of throwing it out, we might be there.

Take out the magnetized/suctioning of players and the whole "Pro-Tak moment" forced aspect (and breaking the tackle and walking in for a TD), and you have a working gang tackling AI behavior.

Heck, go back to what M12 did - you know when we could have multiple players hit a ball carrier to bring them down and get lots of assists instead of going games where guys look like they did nothing because they had 0 solo and a bunch of unrecorded assists. (and yes, I know M12 had the pancake bug)

I get that M12 was purely "canned" animations, but the game is ALL animations - any game is, animations and hit boxes.

Lol, thanks for the video. That exposed that little pic of the pile up. That's exactly the same bs pile up that's been in madden since last year. Phase one... more like phase 25. Enough with the phases already. Facts are facts, they've had the license for 9+ years now. And the sad thing is, there are still a crap ton of things missing that an old title like APF 2k8 has. Very sad. Phase one... really?

Honestly, what have we gained from this half-*** foray into "real physics"? It's laughable that they dumped a workable/fixable tackling system for this mess. I can't even count the number of times in a single game a player collapses to the ground, legs turned to jello like Harry Potter cast a damn hex on them, and it totally ruins any sense of immersion I may have lucked into. The whole thing is a joke.

Can you imagine if some start-up sports game came out where the players collided, bounced off each other like boneless sacks of meat, then collapsed in a heap in a way that makes you think every player on the team just simultaneously shredded their ACL's? It would be laughed out of business.

At this time building towards real gang tackling is unacceptable. Should have been one of the first things this team ironed out. How do you have football without gang tackling ? Im sick of the "building, phase one, 3 year plan talk." This is YEAR 3 OF THE INFINITY ENGINE and we still do not have true gang tackling. Whats the purpose of the engine then ?
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Yep, year 3. And we were lead to believe that 3 years ago, Madden 15 would have great physical interactions and tackling. Evidently, this is not the case. The physics seem to have even less of an effect than it did in Madden 13. Now you more of solo type tackles that are canned, and even if another player gets involved, it's not even really a tackle, they just flop ontop/into the animation. No extra wrap up, or actual impact. This is evident with Break Tackle animations that can not be stopped no matter what, like the animation that makes you trip, spin and fall forward. THAT animation can not be stopped once it's triggered. All you can do is hope a wall of defenders are in front of him while it plays out....maybe he'll only fall forward for 2 yards, instead of 5.

3 years of IE, and weight seems to still not matter, and just be a means to depict player physical size.

And as soon as that animation starts the AI instantly gives up and backs away, it looks so bad.

You have no idea how many times I've yelled "hit that Mthr flapper, stop him" while that animation plays out. Drives me bananas.....lol

Good question - it certainly didn't fix the real problems with tackling in the game.

I guess one thing it was supposed to do was do away with those forced/"canned" animations and play things out using "physics" of some sort (except they are still in)

Of course, "physics" that doesn't include weight/velocity/momentum/friction (with the ground)...

Also, the player "pathing" and movement isn't crisp enough for the sensitivity (guess that's why they had the "clipping" in past versions, because it's that same sort of pathing it seems). See Bowman tripping instead of filling the hole in the Smitty video.

And there still seems to still be some clipping. I think that's one reason Gore ran through the defender in the Smitty video. It's weird all around how IE works and sometimes doesn't seem to apply.

Until they bring back CPU vs. CPU watching in franchise mode, I won't be buying this game (at least full price, sometimes somebody is nice to me and buys it as a Christmas present).
James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."
