Here are the starting QBs and rankings of those players at the start of the 2017 NFL Season:

Some interesting things I saw getting to this point:
* After the first season Cam Newton moved to the Jets
* In what looks to be a continuing pattern, Eli Manning dropped all the way down to a 70 overall
* Only three Qbs were over 4000 yards, Rodgers, P. Manning, and EJ Manuel
* After the second season Andrew Luck signed with the Bucs
* Peyton Manning retired
* After 2016 season, 6 Qbs had over 4000 yards led by Christian Ponder
* Another thing I have noticed is several teams do not address back up QB position until you get to the preseason. A few teams go in with 1 QB, and I have seen a couple where QB2 is a low 60s overall but they go on to upgrade the spot.

I like the stats from this workaround but I am having problems with being stuck on the loading screen when I try to play a CFM game. Is there any way to fix this?

Clarification, the Sim Stats are much, much better with this fix. So, I don't think this fix is junk. If you are looking for better stats than this fix will work.

I honestly think it has something to do with the Game Prep. Teams that are pretty good with youngish Qbs, Bengals, Falcons, Colts, etc. I believe spend their Game Prep on building confidence and not on progressing their young QBs. So, a few years down the those QBs haven't gotten much better. It's even worse with teams that have aging QBs like Giants, Cowboys, Steelers. We may be dealing with something more than what we can truly fix but I think we expected that from the start.

Thanks man. This whole thing is a mess. I noticed that after your first sim 17 teams had a different starting qb. I don't know how that compares to a regular NFL 3 year period but that seems high. For comparison sake could you or someone else sim the same period using default settings and post the same information you just did that way we can just look at ratings and see what impact Connolly's changes are having.

I'm unclear about a couple things.

So, is it 100% true that we need to create 31 other owners?

Meaning, when I fire up CFM, I pick my team. Then what (since I don't have the game yet)? I cycle through each team with the right stick, and retire each other, then create a brand new custom owner?

Does that mean I have to select how the owner looks, his build type, and all that stuff? Like, Jerry Jones, Bob Kraft, etc will no longer exist?

And second, let's say I'm the Browns and I'm about to play the Dolphins. Before I play, I have to switch my ownership to the Dolphins with the right stick, change their playbook and scheme BACK to what it originally was, go back to the Browns and play my game against Miami, and then after the game, right stick to Dolphins ownership and change the scheme and playbook to what I had it before to get the stats simulated correctly? Is this accurate?

- Does this impact scouting/drafting/free agency?
- Does this resolve defensive issues or cause more?

You can just choose the owners who are already active, you don't have to create a brand new owner for each team.

Also another thing I want to look at is if particular styles of play lead to certain QBs progressing better than others. I'm in the middle of simming a season where I set everyone to balanced playbook/balanced offense and everyone to multiple d playbook/hybrid defense.

Just seems that would make the best players play the best since everyone is on even ground. Who knows though, we'll see what happens.

@ Christian Ponder's ratings. How'd he do that?

Would it a big chore to go in and do some Game Prep from time to time with the older QB's?

Obviously, I would have to use 32 team control, but I really only plan on using one team. Theoretically, if guys like Eli and Big Ben were in a slump could I go in and give them a boost?

Honestly, I will only play 2-3 years offline anyway because I only play offline when my online's CFM's has downtime. Plus, once October gets here I doubt that I play too many more offline games anyway.
