It is necessary to switch on defense unless you are the defender closest to the targeted WR already

I play strict no switch/no input both sides of the ball and have not had any issues. Sometimes my DB goes for a pick when they should play man but that happens to the CPU dbs all the time too so its fair to me

Haven't played madden in a few years. I can't pass for the life of me. I am on all pro and may have to switch to rookie. I am having a hard time reading my wr and I tend to throw picks. I just lost to the pats as the fins 16-0 with tannehill throwing 3 picks. I may have to go to practice.

Play skills trainer. They will teach you how to read a defense wich should immediatly help your completion percentage. You need to know where you can and can't attack different defenses.

This is awesome! I was going to make this thread once I got my hands on the game but glad someone beat me to it.

I'm not the best Madden player but I hold my own. I'm a big strategy guy so once I'm comfortable with the game mechanics I'll probably post in this thread a lot.

In CFM, how do I set up my auto sub so that players come out automatically when they are yellow or red? Should the in/out be higher? What ratio?

Question about the play the WR mechanic. Will going for a conservative type catch help WRs hold onto the ball or does play the WR mechanic have a high rate of breaking up passes?

If play the WR trumps aggressive catching but conservative trumps playing the WR and going for the pick trumps conservative type catches, this addition is awesome. Adds another layer of strategy while the ball is in the air.

The "Out" setting is for the percentage that they come out, the "In" setting is when they are put back in. I believe Play Now sets them at 60/80 by default, so you may want to start there for CFM.

"Play The WR" goes for the knock out animation and/or wrap up tackle. "Play The Ball" goes for the swat/interception before the ball gets to the WR.

"Posession" increases your chance of holding the ball, but greatly decreases any type of post catch movement (most of the time the WR falls to the ground). Aggressive has the best chance of getting a hand on the ball, but also the best chance of being tipped/dropped/intercepted. "RAC" increases drop percentage and also takes you where the ball is going (much more susceptible to a DB cutting the route and getting to the ball).

I feel like i am a pretty good player but I want to make sure I have all the bases covered when it comes to the offensive line. My favorite player in the NFL(now that Ray is gone) is Marshal Yanda and I want to get the most out of him and the rest of the Baltimore Raven line. What are the best strategies on maximizing offensive lineman in the run game? What are the best plays for utilizing an entire line that comes with 85+ impact block? Will my love of zone blocking be rewarded or is the game's blocking not that complex yet?

If you are within 5 yards of the line, you can use R1/RB as you make contact with the defender.
