I've been away from Madden since the move from PS2, but decided that 2016 is a good year to come back. I remember in 2005's Franchise mode you could play your human friend in any game even if he was playing with a CPU controlled team. It seems like that ability is gone in CFM and I'm forced to play vs cpu unless i'm playing with a team my human friend selected before the CFM was started. Is this true or am I missing something?

This thread is a great idea. I always have questions and end up searching all over the place for answers. I have already seen some of the questions I would have had answered. So thanks for creating it.

Now on to my questions. First, I always like to play defensive line. I'm not a great defensive player, never have been, so I always try to just go after the quarterback. Is there any tips you guys can give for getting penetration. On previous Maddens I could sometimes go a whole game without ever getting into the back field. Maybe I'm not using the moves properly or jumping snap. Not really sure. Any tips would be great.

Also, is there a thread for it or can someone break down what one should focus on when doing experience upgrades to each position. I get some right off the bat, but a lot confuse me too. Is awareness good for every player? Play recognition too? I guess if someone could break it down or provide a link for me that does, that would be awesome.

This worked for me last year but 1) use RT to jump snap then let go of it. 2) choose which shoulder of the offensive lineman you wanna attack and create contact. 3) once you make contact let the left stick go back to neutral. 4) chose what side you wanna disengage ( works best going opposite shoulder from step 2) move the left stick that way and hit the power or finesse move button.

Anybody good a juking? Juking seems to be utterly useless in this game, defenders in no way react to juke moves, every time I juke I get sucked into a tackle, any tips would be helpful.

Which team has a really good zone + blitz 4-3 defensive playbook? I mainly use the Bills and the the Rex Ryan book is 3-4 based (even though the default depth chart clearly envisions Buffalo as a 4-3 team).

Last year's Bills D playbook was pretty good but it was based on Jim Schwartz, who is no longer coaching.

Is there any way to change the settings and difficulties in Draft Champions? It's way too easy and the games are too short.

I don't believe so. Draft Champions was made to be a short experience when playing, and since rewards are tied to MUT I'm sure there is no way to mess with the difficulty.

Any tips on passing on the fade route? A graphic flashed on screen to (I think) use high point pass with back and left/right on precision controls to throw a back shoulder pass. I thought precision controls were limited to up, down, left, or right for guiding the receiver. Didn't know you can use a right/down combo.

On PS4 is there a way to double cover/spotlight someone, let's say Jimmy Graham, who is just killing you?

Did they remove spotlight from the game or am I thinking of NCAA??

I have the Xbox version but its still in there they just made it harder to use. I found it by accident. Not on my console now.... But you hit y then then individual assignments then hit the icon of the receiver then press A, I think. It will say it the little box " spotlight" sorry I can't remember the actual button presses but I'm sure you'll be able to find it. I'll check later and give you the proper button presses when I get on the console.

This year I've been doing a lot of double teaming. I'll usually come out in cover 2 man under and double with one of the safeties. This usually works if I'm playing a team that really only has one elite reciever.

Tap the Y button to open up coverage audibles, then Y again for individual audibles, you see buttons pop up over the heads of your secondary players hit the corresponding button to select that player, then right stick up for man coverage, and the corresponding button of the reciever you wanna double.

Might seem complicated but it's a not after 2 or 3 times.

Any good tips for stopping crossing routes? I was scrimmaging against some people in my league last night and I was simply getting abused by them. I tried a few different zones & zone blitzes, man press with inside shading, etc. I am playing with the Browns by the way.

He pretty much alternated between throwing to his TE, when he was doubled via safety or user it was either a streak or crossing route to patterson/wallace

*Edit: I typically use the Browns, so 1 shutdown corner and the rest are solid. Hard to get pressure though as I've tried various different ways to achieve it. Cover 0, zone blitzes, hot routing safety/cb blitzes etc.
