All of which I have no clue. All I can say is there are probably many logical ways those factors could play out that might have made this particular type of bug easier to miss, while making other types easier to catch.
I understand that how they test for bugs is different than what a typical person would think. But you would think that after having how many year's worth of Madden that have out-of-box bugs, they would simply assign a person to actually PLAY the games to see if there are any bugs their system missed.

Their testing system is flawed, simple as that. It needs to be changed. Heck, EA could get people off the streets to PAY EA to let them test the game for bugs. You'd think EA would be all-in on that money-making situation.

Re: In-Game Progression Bug Tied To Drive Goals (Will Be Patched, Says Developer)

I've been playing the week 1 schedule in offline CFM and the only player the ratings went into the stratosphere was Shady McCoy. I've played 5 games all at default ALL Pro/Slow/55 INJ/60 Fatigue.

I was playing Indy and he had it going on the ground. His TRK went to 95, BCV to 117, ELU to 105. Can't say what effect this had on how he ran because he didn't break a lot of tackles and I was controlling him.

Since I was dominating the game on defense, I noticed the coverage ratings for my DBs was up in the 80s and 90s. The other appropriate ratings were up LBs but not unrealistically.

Another thing I noticed was a lot of irrelevant rating increases for other players way down on the depth chart.

How big of a problem is this?

This thread was closed yesterday, but by the time i had made it home from work and walked the dog the OP had been edited a time or two.

        http://www.operationsports.com/forum...evelopers.html

They ended up closing the thread though.

I wish they'd give us just a bit of in depth detail, someone in the know, what it means if we continue an already started CFM, what can be fixed, what will be problematic, etc.

If you don't play through one season are we faced with one elevated draft class, so be it, or are there a ton of CFM altering ramification?

I know it's pretty well laid out, and a piece in this thread, and that thread, and mostly educated speculation, but an official word, or thread would be nice.

When official word happens we will have a thread like always. That thread became unbearable and way off topic.

Well, I finally got to play 2 games last night and didn't experience this issue yet, despite winning in a blow out the second game. So its possible it doesn't happen every time or only happens when certain settings are enabled. There are a lot of variables at play in this, so I can understand that it could slip through testing.

Kolbe (creative director) said to hold off on your franchise until a patch is released so just a fair warning. If you were playing to test then disregard obviously, but draft classes are also messed up so just making sure you are aware.

This is utterly and completely disappointing. Was hoping to get my football fix in before NBA drops but it doesn't look like I'll be playing any CFM this year. First time I've purchased Madden in years and I've learned my lesson not to again until at least a month into the season

This sucks , is there no work around yet? Basically we just have to be wait till they patch it?

So I know they are working on a patch. I just started a new franchise and the dynamic drive goals aren't there anymore. Is that the fix? Or is there some way to turn this off and I didn't realize?

You can turn off the notifications, and that might be what happened, but the goals are still there and are still affecting the player ratings.

Last year, Online CFM got updated way before offline with random server tweaks etc. I only play online solo franchise, do you think same this year? Would they notify people when online is fixed?

From what I understand, it sounds like the fix for this is going to require fixes both to the server and to the client. That means that there will be no way to fix this problem just for online franchises.

I definitely do not have drive goals in my current franchise. The notification is turned on and I get nothing. I'm going to create another franchise to see if I can get them on. If they do work in another franchise I'll work back to see what I did to not get them in my other franchise.

I created another franchise and the drive goals are there. Now I need to figure out how I didn't get them in my other franchise. Right now the only thing I did different in my first franchise was to start in preseason as all 32 owners, and start with a customized roster.
