You have to press square to swat in madden 16. There's a few other things most people wont know about unless you look at the controller layout. I didn't know about getting skinny with rb until I looked at the layout.

swat = R1

There are 2 swat buttons (at least on my Xbox one version). X and RB. (Square and R1 on PS4). I just noticed this last night when I looked at the controller layout in the pause menu. I don't know if either makes a difference as far as telling the CB what to do or the user controlled safety...

Anyways I am seeing the same issue. I try to help over the top with my safety and feel like I can't make a swat attempt on the ball...

Also, has anyone else noticed at times when you are pressing whatever button(A,X,Y...don't matter) to defend the ball, your defender warps to a spot before he starts his animation...its like the game is trying to force your defender to a certain spot just so whatever animation its trying to create can be played out. It at times takes your defender out of position and puts the WR in better position.

Warping and sliding are back this year especially for Wr/DB animations. It sucks that one year they are able to minimize then they add a new mechanic the next year and it's back. We really need real foot planting, pivoting, acceleration and deceleration.

That's due to these new animations.

Looks beautiful in replay but frustrating when your usered outcome is determined for you.

really and truly these animations ppl are complaining about shouldnt be a big deal when it comes to timing and what not


since madden implemented the hold the Y button to intercept or catch the ball instead of timing it gave the game a canny feel and gave it more of a animation kind of thing instead of timing and skill

so to get mad about it now its just nonsense in my opinion
