Unfortunately, we have no way to change what's called in suggestions. It's influenced by a number of things, including community playcalls and previous playcalls. It's stupid. I've seen it suggest things that aren't even in my playbook. I wish they'd give us a way to follow the gameplans we set.

So would it be accurate to state that adding Ratings to plays in a PB has literally zero affect when the User is playing with it?...only CPU?

Not zero. I believe the stars have some because I see different ones then I do using default books.

I'm just saying there's no way to make them the only factor.

Re: Madden 2016 team specific playbooks / everything playbooks

Hope this is the right place to ask and I hope someone can help me out.

My new head coach is running a Westcoast offense and 3-4 attacking defense. I usually stick to whatever playbook the head coach uses (the default playbooks for each team) but this coach doesn't have any default ones and since I'm not very good at evaluating playbooks I don't know which one to use now.

So, my question is, what's a good Westcoast offensive PB and a good 3-4 attacking D PB? I don't have a lot of star players on my team so I think we have to rely on a solid run game and lot's of coverage to avoid any big plays. Any help is appreciated!

Packers or Chiefs are pretty good for both sides of the ball. Individually the Giants, Dolphins, Seahawks, Bears, Falcons, Jaguars all run a modernized west coast style. Really any PB is fine on offense. The west coast is more of a concept that makes up a portion of every playbook nowadays. For attacking 3-4, I like Bills, Packers, Ravens, Steelers, and Titans the best. Creative blitzes and formations in those.

As far as run/pass balance - I just played and definitely did not have that problem... In fact I had the opposite. I played against the eagles and gave them your eagles PB. They ran 42 times! 30 with Murray, 10 Matthews, and 2 read keepers with Bradford. It was my fault though, I just couldn't get them off the field. By the time I started really run blitzing every play they were pretty far ahead. Then anytime they passed it was wide open for Bradford. They stuck to the run pretty consistently except in the red zone they mixed it up and tricked me with first down passes. Murray went 30 for about 110, Matthews 10 for 56. Bradford was 12 of 19 for just under 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. They beat me 27-14.

I wonder if sliders are affecting playcalls? They've been known to do that. I played all-madden with pass blocking around 40 for them, pass blocking raised to 80 for me, both coverages and pass reactions raised way up, and interceptions at 35. Everything else around default. It's kind of a slightly easier all madden. I couldn't get the CPU to be competitive on all-pro anymore, even though that's what I like to play because all-madden gets kind of ridiculous sometimes. I did 14 minute quarters ran down to 16 seconds, but I doubt that matters. It's probably sliders. Do you play on all pro with any of their passing sliders raised?

I do play on all pro with my coverage sliders raised and their passing accuracy lowered.

Are you saying that the harder the sliders are for the CPU to pass, the more run-oriented they will shift their play calling?

I can mess around with that.

I'll see what happens when I play the Vikings this season.

One other thing to consider: how stacked is your secondary? My roster has poor DB's...wonder if the CPU is smart enough to attack that and that's why im seeing far more pass attempts?

I was playing with the Jets at the time, so pretty stacked.

That's really interesting! I'll have to continue testing a few things out with different secondaries. Could be a big tip off to what the CPU will do against you. Who knows.

In other news, I downloaded your Cards playbook and am about to test out your Lions playbook later tonight.

I've been editing defensive Playbooks for the CPU to use...while I doubt they closely reflect their real life counterparts...they DO make the game a lot more difficult. I've added in more blitzing and exotic looks into the mix and it makes going up against the CPU much more fun! Highly suggest it.

So far I've tweaked the Cowboys, Ravens, Panthers, and Buccaneers defensive playbooks. If anyone wants me to share them, I will. Again, not 100% what they will do on Sunday, just more varied and fun.

Please do, especially if they aren't running cover 4 every other play. I was thinking about doing something like this except combining some teams into a few play styles - like just have a couple 4-3 and a couple 3-4 books. Like an aggressive blitz and a more coverage oriented one for each.

I'll upload a few more of them then. What else I've found that makes a huge difference is CPU goal line defense play calling. Against a default playbook, you can call a toss play and score literally 100% of the time. With adjusted goal line gameplans, there's more variety and less money plays.

Really starts to feel more like a chess game, which I've really NEVER experienced in Madden before.

                        Just played the Lions.

Won 45-0. Total disaster game for the Lions. They ran deep shot plays on about 65% of their passing plays and the guys either didn't get open or Stafford didn't have enough time to throw.

He finished with 5 INTs including 3 to the same player (McClain) lol.

Might want to dial down the shot plays?

Probably went a little overboard with trying to get it to Megatron. Although trying to go deep and getting sacked or picked off has been a major part of their real life offense so far. That and running Joique Bell for 1.1 a carry even though Abdullah is a far better option and on my fantasy team.

I'll edit in some short passes. Probably tomorrow.

Going to ask this here before starting a new thread -- does anyone know of a source that details the different formations on offense and personnel alignment for each?

I am trying to create a custom playbook specifically for my Ravens in year 2. I know there are many formations where the #1 receiver lines up differently (usually in the slot) but the playbook interface offers no help in this area.

There are a lot of formations where people get shuffled around and just wondering if there is a time saver online.

Just uploaded a Ravens Defensive playbook for 3-4 teams and updated the Cowboys Defensive playbook for 4-3 teams. I have no idea how either defense actually plays in 2015, but both are fairly aggressive gameplans with a good mix of zone, man, and blitzing. Cover 4 play calls in stupid situations have also been addressed. You will get a much more challenging game from the CPU.

Also threw up a Carolina Panthers Defensive playbook too.

Since I know the team, this book is more conservative, relying on the front 4 to create pressure.
