Another reason I do 32 contro, aside from depth charts, is to prevent the teams drafting like garbage. I.e. the raiders taking a QB in the first round when Carr is young and highly rated.

There are more upsides that downsides to this setup. One is as you mention. With 1 team control, the CPU will make odd drafting decisions. With 32 team control and autopilot, the CPU will generally not make the same dumb decisions; IDK why. I had one 1 team CFM that saw TB and OAK draft QBs in round 1. With autopilot on, I didn't see that, which was odd but good.

Oh man...Finally finished the sim off my first season/offseason/preseason year 2 to make sure things were the way I wanted.

I just went to play my first game in year 2 and it won't let me.

Automatically, there are 2 active controllers (I only have one turned on), and it sends one of them to the other team/wont let me continue because it's waiting on another user.

How do you get around this? I have autopilot on for 31 teams.

I've been doing 32 team control for almost 1 full season now and I had no idea about this auto pilot thing. I was doing all the signings for all teams when players get injured. I have no problem doing this but if I leave auto pilot off then I have I do the entire draft on my own?

Also I want full control of all resigns. If I turn auto pilot on for all teams but have computer controlled resigns turned OFF in the settings menu will I still be able to control all resigns?

One more thing, with auto pilot turned OFF that simply means I control everything correct? All I want is for the computer teams to have full control in the offseason so will I be able to have auto pilot ON for the offseason only?

I think if you turn auto-pilot on, the auto-pilot setting overrides all the other settings and tells the CPU to handle all re-signings, FA, and draft choices.

If you want to re-sign all the players yourself, you're best to leave auto-pilot off. I say this because in my 32-team owner CFM, the CPU auto-pilot teams start re-signing key players in week one.

I hope I can just have auto pilot turned ON for the offseason. I will then hope to have it turned OFF for the preseason and regular season. I want the CPU to draft players and sign off season FA's on their own. That's it. The rest I will handle. Does anyone know if I can have it turned on for the offseason only? I imagine all I do is turn auto pilot on after I complete all resignings in stage 1 of the offseason.

Is it possible for me to have full control of ALL teams for the first 3 rounds of the draft then put auto pilot on for the computer teams for the rest of the draft?

I don't know. Pause the draft then go to the settings screen to see if you can toggle auto pilot while the draft is paused.

I've tried turning autopilot back on midway through a draft and I believe it automatically advances the draft to the end...

Is there a way to do fair trades with this method?

Maybe if you see a player you really want on another team, go in and remove user control from that team?

I've been using the method listed in this thread for manual trades. I've also taken the approach of using the trade block for some teams to just get generated offers instead.

I went to each owner in the preseason and toggled auto pilot one for 1 week, then toggled it off after advancing. I did this so the CPU would handle cuts. So far no problems.

My question is with the end of the week. After I play my game, do I check that I'm ready to move to the next week, or should I force the move to the next week? Will the force sim all the games? What's the process?
I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.

Yes, Force Advance will sim everything else.

Ok I have seen that if you set the coach setting to 'ON' for re-sign players, sign-free agents, etc that the CPU should do that stuff.

But it doesn't seem like they are doing it very often. I had a few teams re-sign a few of their players, however nobody made any free agents pickups even when they would get multiple players hurt in the same position. Players injured for 37 weeks and not put on IR, etc.

I know people have said auto pilot makes no difference, but if I put them on auto pilot will the CPU do these things better for these teams?

Not in my experience, no. Then again, I switched everything off auto-pilot after week 5 or 6 so maybe I just hadn't seen it yet.
