For what it's worth you guys may want to look closely at some stock play books defensively,

I played some online games with raiders and cardinals and they had some custom hard coded packeges in Dime and nickel with the cardinals which had a "FS1 at CB swap so Tyran was lined up at CB

Also raiders had a few sets with Khalil Mack rotating between DE & OLB

On defense I'm just making them all half stars for each situation., so it's the default team PB, just re-rated equally.
Still testing it out

By stock pb, do you mean the ones' labeled "west coast" and "run balanced" ?

After adding plays to custom offense, the game froze up. We may not be able to add plays and re-rate them.

I made a custom playbook, rated all the plays half stars and sometimes when I select a play on 2nd or 3rd down it goes into a punt formation.

Why would that happen?

I have not had any issues like you guys have described. Played numerous games with both sides having custom offense and defensive books too.

Are you guys on ps4 or Xbox? Are you playing in play now or cfm?

I just tested a few of the defensive books. I'm not sure if it's better to rate all different plays same star or go scheme or if I'm just getting better and more aware of coverages. I keep noticing a play or 2 here or there I'm like why is that being called (my own fault cus I put it there). I can say that the way the CPU has it default set up with 3 1/2 stars all runs and 1 1/2 stars all pass is not the way to go. Im not even sure all plays same star is unless you really cut down on certain plays and delete in random situations. I even had a random draw or screen on 3rd and medium and 3rd and long where the CPU surprised me and got a 1st down after gaining 13 yards. So just having all pass plays on 1 down isn't very realistic but having all stars rated the same at least will give you variety. Anyways, I'm going to tweak some more later but I'm going to take a break from playbooks for a few days as I'm burnt out and want to enjoy the game for a bit. That being said Vikings are up.

At first I thought it was the amount of plays... So I limited all of the custom books to around 255ish plays... Was having some luck... Then it started to happen again and that's when I realized I was leaving more than 15 formations! Not sure if it's a combo of both or the amount of formations that's crashing the game...

EDIT: it's a combo of both... Must keep it 15 sets and under... 255 plays and under

Should I be leaving 2nd controller on the team and not move it back to the middle? Edit: Yeah have to move it back to the middle before starting.
Ok now all the cpu players just leave the stadium? This custom PBs aren't working for me now?
Idk but it may be just the defaults and generics I will get to play with.
I don't get it b/c it was all working good the 1st couple of 2-3 games with custom but NOT now!

How do I get Coach Suggestions for the User to use the whole playbook?

I know we rerate books for the CPU to call a more diverse game plan but when I rerate a playrook for me to use Coach Suggestions the same few plays are suggested over and over.

Is there a trick to it? Too many plays? Is Coach Suggestions glitched?

Would love to be able to use the whole playbook without having to choose each play by formation, ect.

I've run into that too. When you see the CPU's next play as special teams, DO NOT play the down. Go to Super Sim and advance to the next play. This should fix it.

Otherwise...the team doesn't come back to Earth

Having some challenges getting the CPU run game going with my Vertical Playbook. I'm taken out the stretch, counter, and base plays from shotgun.

I have a lot of dives and zones.

Are there any types of runs that the CPU tends to do well with? (Out of any formation)

Ok so I hust checked, my Rams PB is just simply called Customrams under my PSN Teefmummy. Be wary about the 34 d and chiefs playbook I have up. These were just tests really,

If anyone has a suggestions for the Rams pb after downloading let me know, im always up for making things better

OK finally got a chance to try out your playbook!

Rams (CPU) vs Jaguars (me). Play the Moments - Defense only.

CPU run block 58
CPU QB acc 20
CPU catching 55

Just about everything else default.

HOLY SMOKES Gurley GASHED me. 23 carries 195 yards.

Goff was 10/25 for 133 yards and 1 TD to Tavon.

Notes:
- The run calling for LA is awesome. The plays they dialed up got Gurley going and they worked - he was rarely stopped for a loss. I'm going to borrow some of these concepts for my Vertical Offense playbook (I can't get any run game going with that one)
- Goff's passing offense was horrible. I played with his traits standard (whatever Madden originally set them to) and I'm beginning to think every QB should be edited to force pass: aggressive. Through the first half, his yards per attempt was 2.0. Ugly.
- The biggest tweak I can suggest is a bigger variety of passes. I saw an Orbit play with Tavon in motion a lot and it became a predictable pass to stop. Also, more shot plays are needed with Max Protection. Goff rarely took any shots deep. I know a lot of that is the poor AI/traits out of the box - but some more deep routes would be great.
- I would also just skew the run vs pass balance SLIGHTLY more to passing. It's hard to tell from just one game, because the Jaguars rush defense was pitiful - and LA should keep pounding the ball...but if I was playing with a better defense, and was able to limit Gurley, I don't know if Goff could have gotten over 200 yards even down multiple scores. (And I realize his WR are absolute garbage!)

Great playbook man - looking forward to version 2.0!!!

Just updated my Vertical Attack playbook.

Made some huge adjustments to running plays. The CPU shouldn't get stuffed in the backfield nearly as often.

This is a tough playbook to go up against - especially against a great QB like Big Ben. You'll see all WR's attacking the field and the ball being spread around. Make sure your CPU QB trait is set to Force Passes: Aggressive for maximum results.
