Re: I cannot get pressure
it seems like certain positions are pre-determined to get certain animations vs the ratings of the players fueling the outcome. J.J Watt as a RE in a 4-3 can cause havoc, but as the RE in a 3-4 he's easily kept in check.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
re: plenty of pressure but no sacks
I just had a LE get in uncontested and the offense was running a little shovel pass play and so in response to the pressure the cpu had the qb magically shovel pass it out of bounds into the second row. It was magic and ridiculous.
I mean honestly...
Seriously need to be able to tweak if/when/how fast the QB throws it away. I know it's a trait we can edit - but it doesn't work and everyone dumps it off under pressure like a robot.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
I am curious, with all the talk of pocket time for the QB, averaging about 3 seconds in the NFL, and then comparing it to Madden, what about route running times in the NFL for receivers compared to those in Madden???...If the receivers are not as fast in Madden, at getting open or running routes in general, as in the NFL, then an extended pocket time would be required....I am sure there are other things that need to be compared between the two, in conjunction with pocket time and pass rush pressure, to truly judge the game play...
Also, IMO, I don't even think All-Madden should be a basis for anything in regards to how well the game is, or is not, or how realistic to the NFL...All-Pro, IMO, is what EA/Tiburon has determined to be the default level, and therefore that should be the level judged..Last edited by 4thQtrStre5S; 09-02-2016, 10:18 PM.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
Lower WR/TE AWR don't track the ball immediately upon release from QB's hand.
I've got guys under 40 and it's hitting them in the back of the head/should pads.Comment

Imma give that a try.... Got any tips to get pressure from LEs or 3-4 REs consistently who are good.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
Played a game today - 12 min quarters - and kept track. The cpu qb threw the ball away 12 times due to pressure. I ended the game with 3 sacks. And you go, "hey 3 sacks is pretty realistic... what's the issue?" Well, the issue is there should have been a lot more. I think that the 'throw away' numbers should be cut in half to aid user sack numbers. If I schemed well or just have the talent, I should be rewarded.
As a human player I can't throw the ball away in a nanosecond - the animation has to play out and I get dragged down... and I'm ok with that. I got sacked 3 times - but had no passes thrown away. I wanted to - three times I wanted to throw it away.
The cpu QB has to have the sense pressure/throw ball away ability/logic nerfed IMO. OR - even better - let individual players somehow impact when and how often that is happening.
If a gamer wants to play Madden and have a Peyton Manning type of career the sandbox platform exists to let a variety of talents have that career. If I want to be the next Barry Sanders? I can set up the game so that happens, too. Jerry Rice? Yup, you can slider your way to a Hall of Fame career. But you can't do that on the D side of the ball. The sliders that help the D get sacks (and to a lesser amount interceptions and force fumbles, but still noticeable) have a push/pull programming that makes it all but impossible.
So EA - don't tune the game for everyone. Tune the slider so I can tune my game to find my sweet spot. And other gamers can do the same.Comment

I am more along the line that stats matter for me.
The game just needs a sim and arcade function to play to players wants and needs.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
And this was against a QB with sense pressure "Oblivious" and a guy who is set to not throw the ball away. Clearly, those traits don't work as you'd expect.
I'm all for 'realistic' numbers also if that's the way the game plays out ... but I don't want 'realism' that shuts down the game. If I get three sacks in the first series I don't want the AI logic to respond by shutting down my pass rush for the rest of the game (it doesn't - just saying I don't want it to work that way...) or if I get two picks, the AI jumps in and stops me from getting interceptions b/c statistically that's the deal.
As well, 'realistic' isn't an issue for QBs throwing 55 TDs a year or guys rushing for 2000 yds - those guys aren't the NFL average. But your QB or RB can do that in this game. But you don't get to be JJ Watt in this game. Hell, even JJ Watt isn't JJ Watt in this game. He's on a team getting the 'NFL average.'Last edited by mcavner; 09-03-2016, 12:16 PM.Comment

Right now, I have Rodgers through the 6th week at 11 tds and Lacy with 657 yds rushing. I don't think I'll ever get close with the numbers you described above. Maybe if I'm on rookie, yeah, I could see that happening. In my Packers CFM, Peppers, Daniels, and Matthews are getting there Lions (pun intended) share of the sacks and I'm not usering any one of them. I'm usering Shields, the CB. So far, Peppers is being Peppers, Matthews is being Mattew, and Daniels is being Daniels.
The game was tested on all pro from 5 to 8 minute quarters.Comment

Re: I cannot get pressure
Been thinking about this, so I might as well put this here re: 'realism.'
If in my cfm I build an epic offensive line - like an all-time great offensive line; I want the running game numbers to reflect that in game and in sim. I don't care that the league average is 4 yds/carry if the crew I'm fielding should/could run at a clip of 5 yd/average.
And the same thing for sacks. If I have an all-time great line filled with future Hall of Famers, I think those guys and that line should perform at a level well above any norms. If I build the 85 Bears - I don't want the 2015 Bears' numbers.Comment
