I have noticed that D Line pressure on the user seems to always come up the middle. I was sacked 2 times and pressured multiple times by Stephon Tuitt last night. He's a 76 or so ovr. That same guard stonewalls JJ Watt.

I also never seemed to get sacked by edge rushers.

That's what I'm noticing too, it's not so much a lack of pressure for me as it is the QBs are too quick to throw the ball away. I was playing the Lions and Stafford got hurt so Dan Orlovsky comes in and all game he was throwing the ball away instantly when one of his linemen got beat. The only way I can register a sack is when they do the weird 15 yard drop back or if they try and scramble out of the pocket and I chase them down from behind. I can never collapse the pocket and get a sack that way. This is on all pro without touching any sliders

I hate injuring a starter and playing the backup QB. They always play lights out. Happened to me in 16 to. As far as sacks and pressure I do OK. All pro, default sliders. Using the Cowboys and using Gregory.

I was wondering if I was the only one having the pressure problems. My league is a fantasy league and I ended up with Gerald McCoy and JJ Watt and rarely ever get pressure. At first I picked the other defensive end and let those two work and was getting absolutely no pressure so then I switched to trying to control Watt and McCoy. I got slightly better pressure but far too often getting shut down even in one on one situations going against completely average offensive linemen. This is on all-pro with default sliders.

The DL play is actually the worst of any football game past the year 2000. Zero actual skill or awareness apart from pressing a button. No control over what move you want to do. Even the PS2 maddens you could swim move left or right, but here it's all RNG.

I don't think it's worse than old Maddens. I think you need to go back and look at old Maddens. That being said, I do miss the pass rush mechanics that were in M12 and others, taken out a couple years ago in favor of the button press.

It actually seems good to me this year, Im getting a few too many sacks from my 3-4 ends and not enough from olb but overall the numbers are great on default AP. If you force the cpu to throw it away thats a win for the D. Just try to get preasure and the sacks will come.

What's killing me right now is 2 fold. The defensive line can not get pressure even if you rush 4 elite pass rushers. This means the qb has all day to throw, so even if you have good initial coverage once all the routes are done being run WRs go into "get open" mode and just start running to open spots. Defenders seem to have no awareness and just let guys get wide open for easy completetions.

SS, I've seen that happen, but ever since I've been usering Matthews, I'm getting enough pressure on the QB to be satisfied.

Last night, I was going up vs Matty Ice and I forced him into 2 sacks and the second sack injured him. Schuab came in next and I pressured him into a INT where his receiver fell down.

I didn't read the whole thread so if the following has already been brought to your attention forgive me for the redundant comment.

PSA!!!! For those of you who are having problems with getting pressure on the QB, I will advise you to go to your rosters and look at your player traits. It seems as though Tiburon doesn't think professional football players can't swim or spin and in some cases bull rush. They have a lot of these guys trait turned off, so they don't have access to the move that you are performing, so your button press is meaningless.

The pressure improves a little couple with lowering your CPU OLine passing slider. Just make sure your guy has access to the move before you attempt the move, and you must press the button and steer in the desired direction and remembering your gap assignment.

I am puzzled why this is so poor. I have no control over my pass rusher, and when I try to outspeed the tackle, the ai tackle shifts/glides faster than even my speedy lb. Nothing seems to work, and I hate the lack of control. This is the opposite of 15, that had too many sacks, seems like they rigged the ai to now do the opposite instead of making organic, fun, and realistic line play.

I am able to get ample pressure on All Madden with the Falcons and we all know the deficiencies they have with rushing the QB. I am averaging about 4 sacks a game, 27 through 6 games plus the 3 I have in the first half of my 7th game, and it is pretty well spread out. I run the 4-3 with them and my main pass rushers are Vic Beasley, Rasheed Hageman and Derrick Shelby with Dwight Freeney playing about 15-20 snaps a game and averaging more than a sack per game. Beasley has 3.5, Hageman 4, Shelby 3 and Freeney has 6.5 to lead my team. I also have Campbell with 2, Jones has 2.5, Sean Weatherspoon and Worrilow have 2 from the LB positions. I think my DT's each have a half sack. I just rush as the DT and usually let the DE do their thing on 1st and short 2nd down but long 2nds and 3rd downs I play as the LE and typically that is where my sacks come in. All of my LB sacks have been CPU sacks though. Keep in mind the Falcons defense is not very good at pass rushing and that my Slider for Pass Blocking for the CPU is set to 44.

I can get pressure all day without much problem. The biggest thing is the QB throwing the ball away when's it's obviously intentional grounding, but it never gets called.

True my issue is with my cpu teammates getting pressure. I couldn't do it myself either when I tried and McCoy just kept doing s spin move but I havnt played DLine in years, I'm a LB/Nickle user. We shouldn't be forced to play a certain position to make the game play more sim.

I feel your pain. I get Preassure all day long but sacks are hard to come by. That magic throw the ball away sucks. It is hard to believe that they have made a football game where the qb can intentionally ground the ball 15-20 times a game. I have been turning off the "throwe ball away" trait and making them "aggressive" in force pass and it helps a little. Played the Texas third string qb last night and he was 11 for 42 with two interceptions. He seemed to throw a bit more aggressively down field instead of throwing it away. Although he still got away with about ten intentional grounding.

I know my post implied Matthews is the only one that has pressure, heck, sometimes he is double teamed, which is realistic.

Depending on the CPU OL I'm facing, pressure also comes from Peppers, Jones and Daniels AI teammates and the two sacks on Matty Ice were not from Matthews, one was Daniels and the other one was from Peppers.

Just finished first half against vikings. Bridgewater threw the ball away twice and I sacked him three times and missed my dive a couple of more.

Settings:

Sense pressure: oblivious
Force passes: ideal
Penalty: disciplined
Trow ball away: no

My thinking: making force passes ideal make him not throw the ball quick when receiver covered. Disciplined makes him trigger the grounding penalty less. Throw ball away also makes him throw it away less. Sense Preassure oblivious makes him not knkw preassure is coming as fast. This all adds up to an extra second. If someone else would test this and let me know if I am really seeing this I would appreciate it.
