    Re: I cannot get pressure

Depends on who you're using honestly because I can pressure from time to time using Ziggy Ansah of the Detroit Lions, if he's playing against a weak lineman I don't have to blitz to create pressure.

Also consider the defensive schemes you're using as well.

I was getting beat in almost every game I played in my CFM last season mainly because I didn't have a talented secondary who could cover the receivers that year but since picking up Logan Ryan and drafting a top corner I don't need as much pressure to stop the passing game.

Is there a consensus on how the penalty sliders impact blocking and block shedding?

          Force passes: ideal

My thinking: making force passes ideal make him not throw the ball quick when receiver covered. Disciplined makes him trigger the grounding penalty less. Throw ball away also makes him throw it away less. Sense Preassure oblivious makes him not knkw preassure is coming as fast. This all adds up to an extra second. If someone else would test this and let me know if I am really seeing this I would appreciate it.
Ended up with ten sacks and Bridgewater torched me for 365. Only three thow aways all game.

They do. If you put offensive holding at 20 MM / 20 CFM play, then observe the reduced stickiness.

Yeah I already reduced holding. It didn't do anything but reduce holding calls. Penalty sliders don't affect gameplay at all.

I'm so glad that that the offsides and false start penalties don't help out the pass rush or help the OL hold their blocks longer.

DPI certainly doesn't help out in the CB's playing the WR's tighter.

Sarcasm? If so no need. Just saying what I've seen over the course of my time playing Madden. Penalties affect penalties. I know cats like JoshC believe otherwise, and if you wanna play the game that way go ahead, it's just that I don't think penalties affect gameplay. That's the opinion that I've developed thru the testing I've done.

Yeah, I was sarcastic, but you seem to be dropping your opinion on this subject in other threads and claiming your opinion is the only right opinion.(just my take)

He's done testing on this for many years, so, to each their own.

Jmik58, I found this thread from 2 years ago, so, I'm assuming it's Madden 14. Now, I don't believe in the penalty slider numbers in the OP, but I do believe in the explanation of the penalty sliders. I don't think DPI was working in Madden 14, as it has been only in for the past two years, if memory serves me correctly. That is why DPI is cranked all the way up on that set.

                    People's mileage may very.

                      Re: I cannot get pressure

I have a differing take on this issue now that I'm in year 3 of my CFM. Confidence matters a lot this year, but it sucks because you typically start each year with low confidence throughout the entire team. Now, that does NOT mean that strong line play will cancel out weak defensive back play or the other way around, but they do support one another. Additionally, once they start to gel, things do get much more cohesive on defense, especially when it comes to coverage sacks.

Right now, I'm getting coverage sacks and pressure throw away's so I'm pretty happy. My only real issue is my outside backers keep getting robbed. I run a 3-4 defense but my ends are the ones ending up with all the sacks.

I've never said my opinion is the only right one. I've said that I disagree with it. I have the right to drop my opinion if someone says something I disagree with.

Also, you think I haven't tested the penalty sliders? They do nothing gameplay wise. The coverage and reaction time slider improve/worsen coverage. Not DPI. Pass block impacts pass rush. Not offsides, not false start. That's my take.

Does anyone feel like the RBs are too successful at cut blocking blitzers? I feel like every time I meet an rb in pass protection the cut block is successful

By far. They never fail. Better blockers than o linemen. Last year I saw the steelers bring in dri archer on a third down and he got ran over by a lb and nailed Ben causing a turnover. I want to see that in madden. Young running backs often block so badly it keeps them off the field.

I'm using my own All Madden sliders and have CPU pass block at 15 and I'm getting a good amount of pressure with 4-man rushes.

This is from my test Cowboys CFM. I'm too lazy to edit the clip, it's the second play in the video, starts at :14. I see this pretty often, both the ability to get pressure and the CPU QB being affected by it (and me completely whiffing on the hit). CPU QBA is at 9 currently.

I think this page illustrated that we are far from reaching consensus on whether or not penalty sliders affect gameplay, but we should have consensus on the QB acc slider affecting more than just accuracy. Lowering that slider tends to reduce overall AI QB effectiveness. Leave that slider at default on all madden and Dalton is hitting that wide open RB before you get a chance to hit him.
