Oh alright. You are right about the ratings I think. I just don't think it's a good idea to lower them with how expensive and tough to get xp is this year. I agree that past the 2nd round, you shouldn't be finding instant starters. But I feel like the high xp cost will screw things up, especially for olinemen. You saw that we had to crank up sliders to 300 to get good results for interior linemen. Maybe I'll mess around with 4 week progression again.

Anybody notice that it is harder to run the ball after the new update? I was constantly trucking and breaking at least 1 tackle with Derrick Henry prior to the update, but now it seems the safety or lb instantly tackles me.

I like the idea of lowering the draft class, but only after a certain round. Like it's been said, exp is harder to get, so that should play a part. We shouldn't have to then up the exp sliders to compensate

          SWEET!

That means you will not be forced out in offline CFM's as well (once the big patch finally comes)

Now you might say hey it all worked out with the price of XP packages and all that but that means the XP packages are an issue, not the draft classes. Generated players come into the league with way too high ratings. Not just compared to the base rookie class, but to the base roster, and to the way a typical real life draft goes. Draft classes should be round 1 starter, round 2 possibly a starter, round 3 good backup rare starter, round 4-7 backup. not finding starters in round 1 2 & 3.

If you're fine with reliably finding 3+ starters every draft, and finding 6'4 deion sanders and 6'6 antonio browns then I can see why you would say it 'works well'. But if not, I simply cannot fathom how anyone can say the new draft classes tuner is a mistake.

            Spot on

People are just mad cause they're not getting as many good players. There were wayyyyy too many 80s and upper 70s generated.

This patch (hopefully coming soon for offline) is critical.

There weren't good 6'4 CB's or 6'6 WR's every year before the fix. I don't know why that's some assumed fact. I found ONE "good" 6'4 CB in over 20 drafts. Just because people came into this thread and said OMG 6'4 CB does not mean it was a common happening in drafts. It wasn't. I loved the drafts the way they were, but I guess people complained and got their way.

I agree with you. We're in the minority, but I agree with you. The majority of people complaining were just looking at the freaks/gems thread and thinking those guys were a regular occurrence. I've seen 1 6'4 corner and 2 6'6 wideouts and they were both trash. Yet to see a good one. Starting ratings are a touch too high, but upgrades are stupid expensive this year.

I think everyone has just grown accustomed to players being 78 overall and above to be an every day starter in madden. This is great.. they are finally spreading the ratings out from great players to league average players.. getting a 70-75 overall rookie can still be a starter. They can still breakout and become elite.

To be fair, I don't think the complaint was about there being too many "good" 6'6" WR and/or 6'4" CB, but rather too many of them, period.

I did not get a big enough sample size to have an educated opinion on the matter (have only done 3 drafts); but simply going by the "drafts studs/freaks" thread you tell that there are lots of players that fit these specs, and those are just the ones with good ratings.

For reference, in each of those 3 drafts I had at least two WR and one CB that fit those freak specs. That's a bit two often compared to real life.

If you look at all nfl rosters today, or heck even for the past 5 years, I think you could count in one hand how many 6'4" CB you'll find, same with megatron type receivers. And this is regardless of their skill level.

I'm looking forward to the offline patch to see what real effects the tweaks had on ratings overall.

Going by real world experience, about a third to half your number one draft picks (even after scouting) should end up being scrubs, and most teams should not have a rookie starting. To put it another way, it should be very possible for a team to go through the draft and not end up with any valuable or useble (as a starter) players. Neither was true with draft classes before the adjustment.

This is a great change. It really makes development of players much more important, and allows young real life NFL players rated in the mid-upper 60s - lower 70s to be useful and have careers in CFM. Before being able to get 4-5 guys rated above 70 and into the mid-upper 70s in every draft, those real life players were pushed out of the league after a season or two.

or do i need to start a new CFM to see the changes?

and, must i play an online CFM?

yep, way too many 6'5 and 6'6 WR in the madden draft classes.
