Yeah. That would be purposely, but it was moved several times. Who knows the guy could be covering for marketing.

I don't have a problem with it. I can't say I understand it considering how their other titles handle the run up to release. NHL and FIFA have betas every year, and NBA Live is going to have a demo next week.

I guess they have some data or some other research that informed them this would be a good thing to try.

I don't give a **** about the date honestly. I'll play the game on EA access and decide if I want to buy the game from there.

Huh? Lol! I'm working on an EA game. It's not coming out until 4th quarter or later. They haven't released any info yet. That doesn't mean they are intentionally hiding info. It means they don't think this is the right time to release it for various reasons. Same with Madden.

Huh? Lol! I'm working on an EA game. It's not coming out until 4th quarter or later. They haven't released any info yet. That doesn't mean they are intentionally hiding info. It means they don't think this is the right time to release it for various reasons. Same with Madden.

One good thing that will come of this is that Rex said that the gameplay footage show will be of the final build. Those who analyze it and find that it's still too "Maddeny" for them can get their rant out and be done with it. Those of us who like what we see, can't pull the early build card, and thus at least one of the usual arguments here can be skipped for once(hopefully).

I'm starting to think EA is holding out on game play footage to get as many pre orders as possible. Maybe the difference between 4k and the S one/ pro graphics is vastly better than the standard versions and they don't want to discourage people from holding out on buying at launch because of this.

That's tough to say because I would assume any footage that the Youtubers are going to get is going to be from whatever machine is putting out the highest quality gameplay. Everything we are going to see until EA Access is going to be from either the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro. Showing gameplay early would have no effect on pre-orders in this way...

People can cancel preorders though. Releasing footage closer to release will have no positive effect when it comes to preorders.

The game releases in 3 weeks not 2. Ea does have a marketing department. The game I'm helping with is an extension of a multi billion dollar
Enterprise.

I get the reasoning from a purely economic perspective for driving ahead with MUT but not at the expense of excluding development of a feature as significant as franchise. As we've been discussing on another thread - after 2k burned EA in their "My GM" blog - for me it goes to the heart of what Madden is. Is it a video game or is it a sim that strives to recreate the sport down to its smallest details, the kinds of detail and depth that in the past made me still want to keep playing it ten months after release as opposed to being bored after a few weeks because every game feels the same. Madden has drifted away from being a sim. Dev teams far smaller like those at SDS working on MLB The Show are pushing ahead on multiple fronts but EA can't. I don't buy that it's a matter of resources or ability, just that they (devs, suits, whoever) aren't as committed to recreating their sport in the same way.
