I've been watching less and less football every year so I don't recall seeing the monster formation in a game. What exactly is the benefit? It seems like you can rush 4 and get someone in your QBs face immediately unless I'm missing something

Watch Cincinnati. They run options and quick screens off it. It's designed to spread the box a bit

if you rush 4, your RB would be wide open.. its simple math really

Exactly It's a numbers game.

If a defense decides to attack the RB and QB, then they better have good tacklers and block shedders on the outside. And vice versa.

Think of the wildcat offense back in the day. It was a gimmicky offense, that had success against defenses that didn't know how to properly align. Now that teams know how to align, we see it less.

What does the "11" & "12" personel mean? I cant be 1 WR, 1 TE, 1HB, etc...
