I agree with most of what you said, but can't agree with this. Most guys I've played have run a scheme of only a couple plays. Some are easy to beat and they quit within a quarter or two. Some are really good at their scheme and even though I know what's coming I have a tough time stopping it. They have 2-3 options on the play and it's really tough to hot route in time to make the adjustments you want in a couple seconds. I've gotten stuck on the DL way more than I'd like.

      Re: Fellow OS'ers, I have a confession...

I have to say, I generally love to play MUT; I am definitely not great at Madden, or any other game anymore, more so because I am older and just do it for fun, and MUT provides fun.. I have A Reggie White card on my team; I watched him from playing on the Eagles to the Packers. I still have a copy of USA Today where the Packers and R. White beat the Patriots.

The solo challenges can be fun, and there is enough variety that I can enjoy some nice easy challenges and then end up in some challenges that make me want to throw my controller at my neighbor...lol...

And I love playing the Auction house; so fun wheeling and dealing cards, looking for that snipe or bargain player and trying to build the team of your choice while also making some money. Seriously makes me want to be a Day Trader.

I'm sorry, I mean I agree with the whole to each their own thing like somebody else said, but in my opinion, MUT should not exist in this game. MUT should be spun off into its own free to play game and 100% of the developers resources should be focused on real football.

But that is just my opinion.

Well Sim style would mean that rating have a bigger factor, right?

Funny part is they actually have SIM solos. And some people in MUT head forums Hate it with a passion. Usually you play your bum QBs on solos, but with Sim you get so many inaccurate passes. I'm fine with it haha.

            Re: Fellow OS'ers, I have a confession...

I am not a great Madden player by any stretch. So when I fave a guy that is essentially running the same formation over and over, and just hot routing routes that exploit whatever defense I call, I start audibling into new defenses at the last second. I start by bouncing between man and zone, as that screws up their hot routes. Then, if they figure it out, it becomes more cat and mouse as I start fake audibling. The number of picks and coverage sacks go way up. It doesn't always work, but it flips the script for awhile, and a turnover or two can really swing the game.

As for Solos with different modes, I love them. I mentioned elsewhere that it really showed off Arcade as the best looking mode, as QBs are shifty, use a ton of moves to avoid pressure, and have no hesitation taking off when there is lots of green in front of them.

So played a play now on Arcade with 9 minute quarters and no clock acc last night, just to see how well it works. Numbers wise, it was pretty good. I held Brady to about 60%, and he made some terrible throws as I got pressure. Plenty of rushing, including an embarrassing 17 yard scamper by Brady.

Only got about 100 plays, so I will try 10 minutes next. It will need some tuning to be sure, but it is surprisingly fun and realistic in many ways.

It is too easy to break tackles. Which leads to big plays, but I still only won 31-20.

Those people at muthead often contradict themselves. They want the best cards which is the entire "rat race" on MUT and then when they have any type of struggle they don't want ratings to matter.

Then they go up against a stacked team and have an uphill battle they complain. I mean if you don't want ratings to matter then what's the point of even having different players and cards?

I have felt a huge difference of roster talent on competitive mode. When I was in the high 70s my DL would never penetrate and I was gashed in the run game. Now my DL is solid (mid 80s) and I have much more success. The ratings definitely matter with an asterisk for speed as it can be OP (as always).

I just keep playing Black Ops 3 until they patch CFM and release Week One rosters.

I've looked into MUT to see what the fuss is and I don't get it. It seems like there's no point to it. I like CFM for the story you create, drafting, developing, playing, keeping track of seasons. Online and MUT just seem like time killers, which is fine and has its place but isn't for me.

Besides the grind the biggest issue I have with MUT is I feel like everyone has the same team. EA comes out with new and improved cards weekly and everyone gets them. Then youtube'ers put out videos talking about how good x card Ian then everyone gets that one. Then you play the exact team make up over and over again. Seems like the only variety is people who just started van people who grind/buy packs.

To justify my enjoyment of the mode I'll look at a couple factors that have played into my MUT experience.

#1 - EA pushed me into MUT. It's shoved down my throat every second when I turn on the game. I finally gave in and gave it a shot.

#2 - CFM isn't even ready to be played yet in its current state. Our online CFM is on hold while we wait for the patch.

Here is how I have fun with MUT:

                        #1 -

I realize this is an arcade game and not an NFL simulation. I don't expect real football and I'm not disappointed. I view it as a simple competition vs my opponent. I take nothing personally and expect them to go for it on 4th down and cheese at every opportunity.

#2 - The card system + auction house is fun. I could do without the grinding for coins but it is fun to snipe some cards and buy packs.

In closing, I just want to say that I now understand why some people view this as their #1 mode in Madden. There's a good chance when our online CFM gets rolling I drop MUT completely but it's been a fun ride to this point and I can see myself getting into a yearly routine of playing MUT until the first patch drops and fixes the initial issues.

I do understand the frustration of many gamers on here because I don't view this game as an NFL simulation. Our online CFM will strive to try and make it close to an NFL simulation but at the end of the day it's a video game and it's aimed more so at casuals, in my opinion. Offline just isn't a priority and financially it doesn't make sense for them to focus on CFM as much as I want it. The MUT content put out weekly is crazy and the disparity of perceived resources from MUT to CFM is night and day. MUT is the cash cow...I've faced lineups that were already stacked with 90 OVR players which means these people invested hundreds or $1,000+ into their teams.

P.S. - I played LS and I can't believe it is in the game. I think it's a huge waste of resources and I hated every second of the mode.

I appreciate the write up but I can't get into a game that allows for two Warren Sapps on the same defensive line. It's just too weird and unrealistic to me.

It doesn't. Even if you use two versions, the game will not let you use the same player twice.

Is this based on your experience playing, because I really don't see this? Yeah, these are all-star teams, but there is still a lot of variance.

That must be a new restriction, because I remember seeing a youtube video a few years ago where a guy put his second Warren Sapp on the line.

Even if you only get one, it's still not NFL football. To be honest MUT doesn't feel to me as though it is geared toward NFL fans; it feels geared toward Madden fans, and there is a difference between the two.

As I am sim to the core, even if they limit the number of Warren Sapps, the fact that you can have him, and it not be on the 2002 Bucs or something (along with John Lynch, Simeon Rice, Derrick Brooks, etc, and NOT with guys who weren't on that team), just kills it for me.
