So no huddle isn't the same as NCAA 14, that's what I said.

On NCAA you could switch to any formation no matter what your personnel was.

I believe (need to double check later) that on madden you can only switch to formations that fit your personnel grouping.

So madden is more accurate.

Exactly. It essentially the same just tuned to be more realistic. But the concept is from ncaa.

I could be remembering things incorrectly, but I always felt like Madden was a year ahead when it came to introducing new features, like the hit stick and playmaker controls

It was a back and forth deal. NCAA had a real coach mode.
NCAA had the player lock - D Cam first etc..

When it came to introducing new features, animations, graphic styles and AI improvements it went like this:

FIFA > NHL > Madden > NCAA

Now recently it goes like this:

FIFA > UFC > Madden > NHL > NBA Live

FIFA always get new stuff first, then it trickles down to the other games. By the time Madden get something, FIFA would have had it 2 or 3 years already. NCAA due to their shorter cycle was always a year behind Madden. Devs and former community managers have stated this many times on OS and at various E3/EA Play events over the past 5 years or so.

I think at this point it's safe to say that the NCAA football team was simply either more talented/creative/or had more freedom to innovate than Madden's team.

Madden in its current form started out with the worst base game ever. Madden 06. It’s improved over the years but issues from that horrible framework has hindered the game since 2005.

Add to that a shortened development cycle, focus on MUT and micro transactions over other issues and short comings combined with the monotony of playing only EA style football for 12 years and you get a boring repetitive game.

NCAA didn’t change anything imo.

For me, it's just not as fun. The physics may be finally coming around, but I guess does real football physics make for a good football game? A.I. is weaker than the previous gen games, that's not debated I don't think... I still break out Madden 10, 25 and 15 and I have a more enjoyable experience than I do with 18 or 17 (which I did like btw).
