Re: What’s more fun player Chise or regular chise
For me, Player. If you wanna pretend you’re an NFL player, it’s the way to go, for obvious reasons. Just be prepared for amazingly stupid player AI and a messed up challenge system, unless they fixed it for 19.

Hopefully player mode will be fun for non qbs this time⎛⎝DAWGS⎠⎞Comment

Agreed. Route running in 18 is absolutely broken; get pushed or sucked into a holding animation, and lose all control of your player.

Re: What’s more fun player Chise or regular chise
I'd much rather take control of a full team. Unless Madden makes a my player like NBA2K with a storyline(one where i can create my own guy) then the single player chise gets boring after game 3Comment

Re: What’s more fun player Chise or regular chise
I always like to start one as a player, usually MLB and play that until I find issues that are difficult to deal with. I love playing as an MLB this year with RPM, I am able to get a significant amount of tackles. Years past it was always around 5 or so combined, now i can get 10-15 combined solo and assisted.
Here are the issues with it this year:
-Some tackle goals are solo tackle and others are total tackle, but no wording to let you know which is which. It is easy enough to figure out, but it should be more clear.
-Boundary/rule issues. A receiver ran out the back of the end zone and caught a td. Even if they ignored the illegal touch rule, he never even established both feet in bounds, one was actually out when it was caught. No booth review.
-A receiver caught a td, but 2nd foot stepped out and the ball popped out. Should have been incomplete, at the very least OB. They did call a booth review but the TD upheld.
-sliders dont seem to work the same in player mode. I use 70 run block, 35 tackle, 0 speed differential, 70 fatigue. Players sub out, CPU and I can run in play now and team franchise. In player franchise players never get tired or sub out. The cpu never has a backup rb in other than the formation sub stuff. My teams fatigue on defense stays green. CPU still absolutely cannot run at all even though they can be very successful in the other modes.
-supersim - my team never uses a backup running back. starting rb, fb, and qb are the only players on the team with carries. my starting rb has about 60 more carries than the 2nd carry leader in the league 11 games in. They drive down the field but at the end of the half if they dont get to 4th down they wont kick a field goal, the time just runs out on a running play. That cost me a game when they didnt kick a winning fg at the end of the game.Last edited by joet6683; 08-14-2018, 11:17 AM.Comment

Create your player in the main menu and add him to your chosen team. Then do team franchise and player lock your guy during plays. Then you can control play calling at least and will only have to rely on dumb ai after the snap.Comment

Re: What’s more fun player Chise or regular chise
Yeah that probably is the best workaround. Sliders and fatigue will work, and I can jump out of supersim to set up a FG when it seems they are going to avoid wanting to win the game.
In years past I seem to remember my backup RB's getting carries and the CPU backups subbing in due to fatigue. Am I remembering that wrong where this has always been an issue in player mode? Or is that correct and it is a new issue this year? And sliders not seeming to work in this mode?Comment

For me, owner mode is the only way to go. It's not incredibly deep, but deeper than player or coach mode.Comment

I think most have forgotten what Madden Superstar mode used to be... It is so sad where we are today regarding that part of the gameComment

Re: What’s more fun player Chise or regular chise
real player motion, one of the big upgrades they touted this year. It feels like i have better control of my defender and am not sucked into blocks so I can fill gaps and roll off the blockers to make tackles. Not perfect by any means, but the best control I have felt on defense since probably the ps2/og xbox era.Comment

Coach Mode Franchise.
I create a coach and watch his record and legend grow. It allows me to change teams as I progress and to become a legend lolComment
