As far as Dynamic Contrast, you're actually losing detail by turning it on (both shadow and specular highlight detail) and colors around bright highlights are more washed out. Dynamic Contrast set to off takes a bit to get used to, but definitely worth it.
Haha people have not set sharpness down to 0 since the days of 720p.

When you set it 0 in 4k, you lose detail. At least to my eyes and according to Xbox calibrations screen.

That's not even remotely true. Because it's 4K, it needs even less edge enhancement than an HDTV. Every credible professional calibrator out there will tell you to set it to 0 on a 4K TV, or any TV/monitor for that matter.

The sharpness setting on a TV does absolutely nothing to add detail. It's just edge enhancement. It decreases detail the higher the setting.

If I really tried to do this myself I think I'd go crazy fiddling with it and I knew that when I bought the tv so I sort of went to different sites and used their settings and once I got to my second or third one I found I liked how it looked and just rolled with that.

Again, the only thing I did on my own was DYNAMIC CONTRAST to medium, which I have read a lot on and nearly everyone says not to use it at all but whatever..LOL
Yeah fiddle a lot with my Sony.

My TV looks great in gamemode, but in Cinema mode its Godly, but suffer lag.

          Actually its very remotely true.

Go to settings and read font in a game with the sharpness on 0 compared to 50 and see.

Not sure where you get your info but you are off buddy.

You're talking about your Sony TV. Sony's sharpness setting is different, in that setting it to 50 means that you are not using any edge enhancement at all. 50 on a Sony is equivalent to 0 on a Samsung or LG.

we left 'Sharpness' untouched at 50 (50 does not add any sharpness to content)

                  Re: Lighting Patch?

This is why I was PM'ing my settings, because I really didn't want to make this a thread about my TV settings, LOL. I also didn't really want to get into my own head about omg i should change this or that either...I don't want to go down that rabbit hole!

Again, I didn't come up with these settings (except the dynamic contrast and as I said, whatever, I like it at medium) so these aren't just settings that are made up or whatever..

Please let's get back on track, if you like my settings fine but if you want to discuss what is wrong with them or what you would change or whatever just PM me.

People aren't coming in here I don't think to discuss ODogg's Samsung settings LOL

That's fair enough. It's all about preference in the end. But just thought I would point out that you are indeed losing detail with sharpness set that high and with dynamic contrast on.

I put my sharpness setting to 100 on 4k I bet that made you cringe didn't it lol. But with all seriousness let people adjust there TV's how they want all this professional settings stuff is crazy unless those professionals purchase the TV for me their input means nothing, I will let my eyes guide me.

Yeah its doesn't add sharpness, but it will subtract sharpness if you move the slider to 0.

I've done it to many times to argue. Also when playing World of Tanks, if I move the sharpness down I cant see dents and imperfections in my tank as much, but hey, what do my eyes know.

Yes, but this is unique to Sony, though. On a Samsung or an LG, for example, setting it to 0 is equivalent to 50 on a Sony.

As for Sharpness, yes 0 "may" be good. Depends on your specific TV and when the picture begins to get blurry. I have mine set at 10 because below that level the image gets blurry (while wearing my glasses..lol...everything is blurry without my glasses.. )

Ok guys, sorry but two settings I posted were wrong...

                              DYNAMIC CONTRAST: Low
                              Color space: Auto

I have no idea why when I typed out those settings i got them wrong but just now went to my tv to change the Color space to auto and noticed it already was auto, not native. And then when doing so I noticed Dynamic Contrast was set to Low, not Medium.
