The more we can narrow this down, the better we'll be able to actually get things fixed if there actually is an issue. I think between all of us we're getting there.

If you need to use dynamic contrast, which everyone does, then there is an issue. FWIW Mlb the show looked absolutely awful in HDR without dynamic contrast on high. Same issue of dark ‘sunny’ days. If you go to a 1pm football game on a sunny day, it doesn’t look like what we are seeing in HDR.

For some folks, not disputing that but I am playing now a 1pm outdoor game and it looks like how I would expect it to look in real life.

I really do think we have a bug that only exists under certain conditions.

Ok man I am either seeing things or this is an anomoly but I picked up a redbox physical copy and the.colors are normal no darkness or haze..I really think its a bug or some corrupted downloads..I saw posters on other threads stating the physical copy looks different than the access or beta versions..I wonder if they patched something in..

This should settle it. There IS something wrong with lighting in the game. Not sure some get so defensive about this game every year.

I’m playing on a 6-7 year old plasma TV, PS4. No issues so far, it’s much brighter than it was in beta, which is good

Hmmmm really? That settles the fact that cookieboy has an interesting picture that who knows how he got it, or why his tv looks that way. It's also ignoring the huge amount of pictures not looking like that which are posted in this thread by people actually well known in the OS community.

It's not about being defensive of the game, it's about working together to actually try to ascertain if something is wrong and, if so, under what circumstances does it occur so that we can tell something of substance to EA.

                            Re: Lighting Patch?

I got the standard Madden 19 digital download on my Xbox One X hooked up directly to my Samsung 65in KS8500. I've had every copy of Madden since Madden 06'. I've been playing since last night, 2 Play Now games and some practice.

When Madden 18 got patched with HDR last year, I noticed from the start that the Brady title screen would go from its standard look to a brighter screen and then flash back again to a slightly dimmer screen, upon playing my first Madden 18 game with HDR it did look dimmer/faded/washed out (not bad necessarily, but different). So I played with the in game settings and adjusted the contrast to "higher" and left brightness at "default". With my TV settings, I thought it looked great and left those settings that way when I converted to the Xbox One X last November and got the Madden 18 Xbox One enhanced patch. Things looked great and still do up until yesterday with my last game of Madden 18. *In Madden 18 after changing the in game setting Contrast to "higher" I would notice during the game loading screens that it would flicker once or twice to a washed out look (bc of the "higher" contrast setting) but in game would look fine.

With all that said, those same settings, including Maddens in game settings of: Brightness @ "default" and Contrast @ "higher" things don't look nearly as good, even if I set both in game settings to "default".

There was a YouTube video in 4k HDR of Madden 19 (Seahawks vs 49ers I think) floating around where everything looked faded. I haven't had that issue. Nor have I had the issue posted in an EricRayWeather video of a Lions/Packers game. What I'm seeing in my 2 Play Now games in the Bucs Raymond James Stadium (both 1pm and clear) is that it clearly looks like a 4:30pm game. Some angles/positions during replays look extremely different from other angles/positions, its kinda jarring. More so the colors don't seem to pop as much.

I have noticed in manual replay that the clouds don't move. In Madden 18 the clouds moved constantly - not sure if this has something to do with the lighting issues people are having, or with the time of day progression, but surely something is off with this game regarding lighting. It diminishes the look of the game significantly and hopefully EA is aware and working on a fix!

I've posted a bunch of pics on here and havent had any lighting issues. Sorry, I just haven't. So I dont think its affecting everybody. If EA notices something is off im sure they'll look into and have been already if indeed something is screwed up. If anything Duece's side by side has atleast creedence not sure about cookie.
