Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
I posted this in the franchise thread, didn't realize there was this one.
This guy went #2 overall, 2 picks before mine, in the 2020 draft in a Giants CFM.
At the time I took these he didn't have his dev rating revealed yet, but it's Star.
This one stung as controlling the MLB is always my preference and I've been wanting a prospect like this for a few Madden's now. He didn't end up having that great a rookie season in the Dolphins 3-4 but did win DROY in the AFC regardless.Comment

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
Don't have any real "studs" or "freaks" here, but I'd like to share with you my first draft class while re-building the Dolphins. Might be the best overall class I'll draft on this game.
I had the #1 overall selection and traded down with the #2 team for their 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, and 1st rounder the following year. Also had an extra 2nd rounder, and also had the Saints 1st rounder in this draft due to trading Minkah (when I was playing this, trade rumors were out for Minkah in real life, but a trade hadn't finalized yet).
Obviously none of these guys were rockstars immediately, but after developing them for a while they turned out great. My favorite player out of this class is Jay Gaston. Has 96 speed, 92 acceleration, and 96 agility. I play with speed threshold at 80 and he's still unstoppable.
Rd 1 Pick #2 - TE AJ Fullerton
Rd 1 Pick #21 - DE Nyles Veal
Rd 2 Pick #1 - HB Jay Gaston
Rd 2 Pick #32 - MLB Will White
Rd 3 Pick #1 - FS Jeremiah Goddard
Rd 4 Pick #1 - DE Darrelle Hubbard
Rd 5 Pick #1 - LT Barry Benford (Moved to LG)

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
Had what seems like a really good class just now. I was picking 1st after a 3-13 2022 season with the Giants (first season with Revival mod on PC.... a bit of an adjustment realism & difficulty wise) and got a heisman winning QB with the top pick. I'm using tdawg's progression system, so who knows how well these guys will develop:
He's not quite Wesley Meredith (above), but not too shabby:
Freak SS size wise, and fairly well rated too:
But this is probably the best safety prospect I've seen in Madden so far, personally:
That speed is insane for a S. And he has decent starting points for everything else including hit power and awareness.
And this is the QB I took first overall - super strong arm and prototypical size (6'6 235). I didn't take a draft screen because his charts weren't overly special (A+, A, A in power, short and medium). Whether he pans out is really down to the progression he is gifted by tdawg's random-ish system.

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
So yeah, hit the jackpot on Tramer...
I'm not a big fan of the Bazooka X-Factor, but this is the first X-Factor I've drafted and to get him 1st overall is pretty sweet. Honestly this is the first genuine franchise QB I've drafted in Madden for a long long time, I think since probably Madden 15 or so.
He went +3 OVR in the first progression point using tdawg's PC system. This system does heavily weight potential to dev trait so I'm hoping this QB is the real deal and develops to 95+ OVR.
Funny thing is, even though he obviously didn't reveal the X-Factor until 500 snaps (actually he revealed as a Superstar first in week 7 and didn't unlock X-Factor until the progression to 80 OVR in week 8), he played like a special player from game 1 in some ways. Strangely the first thing I noticed about him different than my previous season's QB was he was able to throw away balls with more success (as opposed to being sacked and not getting rid of the ball despite what seemed like a full windup).Comment

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
That guy is already a great QB. 80 OVR in his age 21 season is ridiculous, and he’s already got 3 passive traits active. You don’t have his 80 OVR individual ratings posted but even at 77 he has extreme THP and high 80s short and mid accuracy. That’s more than starting caliber. TUP needs some help so maybe he’ll struggle against a rush. Still, he’s awesome.
I like the SS more. With that speed he’s going to be zipping around the field getting to everything. Absolute future monster.Comment

Even if he doesn't develop much more, he's already pretty fun to use - like you said, starting caliber at least. This progression system is brutally realistic though, this might be as far as he develops, and while it's not necessarily an indication for long term success, unfortunately neither the FS or SS I posted progressed at all in their first progression (but they still have 7 more to go).Comment

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
Anyone have any experience with drafting players who win the Heisman as one position, but then are in the draft pool as a different one?
I got a story that said Ohio State WR wins Heisman.
In the draft pool, he's a CB.
How good can he be? Will it depend on his combine?
As of right now, his 3 top skills are:
Man Coverage B+
Play Recognition B-
Catching C+

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
This class had 7 WRs go in the 1st - some were Madden "busts", i.e. < 70 and normal dev, but with the tdawg progression system they could become stars. 4 of them were hidden dev and 73 or better.
There was also this TE:
Not bad movement attributes for a huge TE.
I ended up with this MLB in the 1st (18th overall) - seems to be a theme in my Giants CFM of oversized MLBs with pretty good star potential:
Also, I notice he is flexing his arm, and a 68 OVR C I drafted in the 4th (who was projected as a 7 rounder but my scouting had him as a 2nd rounder) did a full double arm flex - is this tipping their dev traits? star for MLB, superstar for C? I thought they patched that.Last edited by Nza; 10-08-2019, 05:54 AM.Comment

Re: M20 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks
This dude is insane. Drafted him late first round after my first season. He started as a 76 with star dev. Got a breakout scenario around week 4 to bump him to SS. He got the faster juke moves trait and when I got him to an 80 he got the joystick trait (don't lose speed on any cuts).
It was my first full season on All-Madden so i was having more success running than passing and i reshaped my team around him. He finished the year with over 2,500 yds and 26 rushing TDs. Won MVP and got the X-Factor. His Speed, Accel, Agility started as 93-90-88 and rose to 94-94-93 throughout the season.
Dude is insane. Didn't even train him during the year.Comment
