Have they actually worn this recently? I would not be surprised one bit if they were limited to NFL uniforms which were actually available for sale during their contract. The orange creamsicles are widely available on the Bucs website, but the white throwbacks are not.

MUT is supposedly getting throwback uniforms, limited I am sure, for season 5. Just in time to attempt luring people to stay and play the mode after the Super Bowl, IMO.

I am still waiting for the ability to wear the Oilers away uniforms in Play Now, instead of having to relocate a team in CFM just to use the full set. Males zero sense to me.

Maybe if EA didn't waste so much time creating manipulating AI logic for CPU game play they could focus on other areas of game improvement. I imagine the game play as a whole would be better if there wasn't some 1000 variations on how ratings are manipulated and applied.

Lets see, Play Now plays different than CFM which plays different than MUT which plays different on arcades, sim and competitive, which then also plays different on, etc etc etc.... A programming nightmare.

@equipment_guru on Twitter a couple of days ago asked what kind of unis everyone wants to see come to Madden.

So it looks like Madden will get new throwbacks but whether that is for the next gen only, all versions, or even for Madden 22 is speculative; either way that’s a positive.

For me, the biggest gap is the missing AWAY retros. When I play a game with a retro feel, I want both teams to have uni's with matching "Eras"...one home, one away.

And I may be in the minority on this one, but I never understood the "75th Anniversary" and "AFL Anniversary" jerseys???.....why not just have the actual old school uniforms that those "Anniversary" jerseys are based on?

Right. But so were the jerseys they were based on.....back in the 60's. I would rather just play with that....not the one with the patch. And while I would like to see more jerseys, I don't know that I need the 60's jersey AND the same jersey with the Anniversary patch.

Probably a licensing issue.

Nike makes all the jerseys now, Reebok before them. It was open season for NFL teams prior to that. EA probably has to act accordingly.

I would love to see the uniforms (and uniform pieces) named by the range of years they were used, similar to how SportsLogos.net formats their site. Even if every option wasn't available, I think just formatting the naming this way would be very helpful.

Give me the 1980's 49ers away uniforms, please (white jerseys without the team name on the collar).

And while they're at it, the 1998-2008 Garcia/Owens home and aways please! If I had these, I could mix the jersey with the 94 throwback pants and make my own 1996-1997's [emoji16] Actually, come to think of it, these would be priority 1 for me as a 49ers fan.

I saw a lot of people asking for practice attire. I also echoed that in my reply. Practice outfits were in Madden NFL 19, after all.

I also suggested the 1998-2008 49ers home and away sets. More away throwbacks in general would be welcome too.

Based on my attempts to manipulate assets in the PC version of the game for an older Patriots uniform that actually don't appear in the game, I think part of it is that many of those old uniforms would have to be made from scratch.


What I'm talking about above is that in the various stuff in the game that doesn't actually make an appearance is a Patriots uniform that has a very different two dimensional shape than other uniforms and norms, and when I tried to use that jersey as a replacement for today's jersey, there was a weird effect where the tailbone had a large blue band, which doesn't appear on any Patriots jersey.



My guess is that when they updated how lighting and player models work, they did not update that particular jersey set. For whatever reason they didn't delete it, because it's in the game, and you can use it if you want (it has some jersey hole texture on the jersey itself, while all the modern uniforms in the game put the texture on through the norm and RSM files).


So, it seems that whatever old uniforms that are still in the game that aren't actually a part of the uniform choices would need to be completely redone, as would every other uniform not available to the user.
