In addition, the TK helmet is currently all glitched out on PS4 for us retro roster guys. Also, no more use of existing player faces for edited rosters when editing last names. As soon as you edit a last name, that players real face changes to a generic game created one.

Yeah I was so upset with this decision by EA

I mean why does it matter if we want to use a current player and change his name.

Just a foolish decision IMO that makes absolutely no sense

I found a way around the existing faces disappearing, but it only works in franchise. When you edit the original player in the roster editing outside of franchise, change everything you want except for the name and obviously the face and skin tone. Then once you’ve taken that edited roster into your franchise, go to the player you want to change and switch the name. Now it will still change the face in the edit player menu, but don’t be alarmed. Once you save the changes and back out of the edit, the only change will be the name. I’ve done this multiple times on PS5, don’t know if that makes a difference. Good luck!

Yeah but for classic rosters unless your just making them for yourself and not sharing the file this wouldn't work.

The question that should be asked to EA is why would they make this change after years of allowing us to keep current player pictures.

I am hearing from multiple threads that they are not available yet on PS5. Yes, player faces are kept when editing in franchise only.

As a 49ers fan, along with always hoping for more throwbacks (home & away Garcia/Owens uniforms please! And the 80's away...) I'm also hoping they update our field. Looks like they brought back the mid-field helmet from years past, replacing the giant SF logo...I would love to see this in-game:

Chiefs - 1970’s Home and Away

Falcons - 1990’s Away, 1970’s Away, 1989 Home and Away

Cowboys - 1994 MNF All White Throwback, 1976 Home and Away, 1992 Home and Away

Colts - 1960’s Away, 1995 Home and Away

Packers - 75th Anniversary Away, 1988 Home and Away

Giants new White pants added

Also, added but not listed was the Packers’ new all green alt

The variety of falcons addition was nice, to me the packers, cowboys, chiefs, and colts didn’t impress me that much since their uniforms are not much different from their current versions. I was hoping more teams were going to get throwbacks, especially like the 1980 bengals uniforms and more away uniforms for the current throwbacks would of been nice.

From the latest patch:

New throwback uniforms added for 49ers, 1980’s Away, 1994 Away, 1998 Home/Away

I hope we will continue to see new throwback unis added throughout the season.

The added 1998 niners Unis look pretty good. They changed the 1980's uniforms and not necessarily for the better. They took away the fat striped pants and changed the socks up a bit. IMO, the model of pants and socks on the prior versions of madden replicated the 80's look much better. Personally, I'm still really invested in my Madden 20 franchise based on a 1998 roster and draft classes but also having M22 it is nice to see the 98 unis get in again but I really do wish they would've have just added the white 80's uni and left the pants and socks alone.

Nice addition (49ers) and they fixed Browns & Colts helmets but I'm still getting a blank helmet with 70s Falcons.

Haven't had the late 90s/early 49ers uniforms since like Madden 08. But I didn't see if they had the white pants of 1996/97, with the black red black stripes. Loved those.

Those white pants are still missing. You can use the '94 pants as a fill-in, but the red & black stripes are of course swapped compared to '96-97. But for now, it'll do in a pinch.

I'm very pleased with the '98 uniforms! I also feel the gold is pretty close to how it should be, perhaps not exact but I'll take it. At least it's not just the same gold from the regular unis.
