The cpu QB sacks. Watching some of the best pocket QB just backpeddle and lose 13 yds. They drop back into a safety at times. Whats worse is they have guys open or semi covered.

It makes any victory feel cheap..

They need to start cold games earlier in the season. Or for the love of god, give us control of the weather! For example. It’s cold in Chicago pretty much all of November, but the “cold games” don’t start until last week in November if that. The coach and everyone running around in shorts and tees week 11 or 12 kills it. Speaking of that, we should have control over coaches attire.

Probably a lot more to do with less situations for the programmers to worry about.

dynamic attendance has been a thing for 20 years it's probably thirty seconds of worth of coding. it's not in because the NFL doesn't want it, the devs have stated this.

Everything related to the draft.



Rookie names not called (especially if you edit the rookies, even to names already in the game).

Every now and then you get a ridiculous steroid induced rookie, or one wearing knight armor under his pads causing them to be ginormous.

Dozens — maybe even hundreds — of players in each draft have the exact same faces.

The entire scouting mini-game.
It is way WAY too far away from reality.
This one especially needs to be completely torn down and replaced. Deuce’s idea is the ideal starting point.

dynamic attendance has been a thing for 20 years it's probably thirty seconds of worth of coding. it's not in because the NFL doesn't want it, the devs have stated this.

Nothing is 30 seconds of coding when you have to deal with the mountain of existing code they keep building upon. Especially when new people are brought in to the team. I see that mentioned a lot, and coding never goes as easily or as quickly as most people think.

He exaggerated some, but his point remains true - the NFL is the one keeping dynamic attendance out of the game and that has been stated repeatedly by EA employees over the years. EA is capable of it, we saw it in the NCAA games up to the final release of 14, so we know they can do it if they were allowed.

The 2 min warning wipe comes in too fast, it comes in almost before the play is over with.

The whole entire Madden 21 on field presentation is a immersion breaker. Its made for the online competitive crowd to get through games as quick as possible. This may be OK for online but it's a total disaster for offline franchise players. They need to give us presentation options like MLB The Show.

Nothing screams scripted more than this and it happens a lot to me. I hit a receiver for a slant and he makes the first guy miss and starts to take off and gets chipped by a safety and starts stumbling and the "Two minute warning" screen pops up. I don't even see him hit the ground and also don't get a chance to help him recover from the stumble. So clearly the game has predetermined the play is over.

Yeah that entire special teams lineup is frustrating and poorly coded. We should be able to actually set up the positions for punts, kicks, returns, etc. And not locked into MLB2 (which doesn't make any sense for 3-4 defenses), LOLB2, CB3/4, etc. It has been that way for as long as I can remember though.

How after a few years into franchise, drafted players look the same because of the lack of face options. Should just have the player creation suite in the mode to solve for this (community could create awesome draft classes) and more face options for the different skin tones. Dumb that after a few years in you're drafting clones of other drafted players.

As well, how if you edit a players name in franchise for custom draft classes the commentator will no longer say their name no matter how common it is. They should just do what NBA2k does and have a name database you can select from that the commentator will say... Hurts immersion when your star QB is referred to as a number...

Hope they fix both of these in M22...

I'm sure it has been mentioned already, but the players on the sidelines. Two models from what I can see, skinny and fat, look like they are straight out of Madden 03 with no custom equipment and 4 different scripted reactions.

Even if they weren't proper player models like on the field, just make them better, make half of them have coats on or no helmets and caps instead, some holding gatorade, and have them moving around a bit more naturally. It really can't be that hard and is such an immersion breaker for me whenever a play goes near the sideline.

I change it in formation subs, so the punter is the holder.

Still pretty dumb to make that as the default. It makes you wonder what kind of QC they have working, and what kind of alpha testers they have. Probably a bunch of yesmen who do nothing but utter praise. That or people who don’t know Jack about football. There can be no other explanation.



Side note: long snap speed is ridiculously fast and definitely an immersion breaker. As is the none existence of long snappers or modern position names (for example, LOLB? Wtf is that? Come on. Clowney does not play the same position as Kwon Alexander. One plays edge, one plays linebacker. A 3-tech the same as a nose, all called “DT”? No slot corner [it’s just all cornerback, as if the slot corner position isn’t becoming a highly specialized position in and of itself], no NT, and so on).

It’s as if people who actually watch or played football don’t work on the only NFL game. One wonders what Clint is doing and why simulating football is less important than making cool laser effects for a super power in the game.

Really messes things up for awards in franchise too. A coverage linebacker shouldn't be compared to an edge rusher especially since Dev traits are affected by end of year rankings too.
