That's the kind of effort that will result in a great mode for us if it keeps up for the long run.

Also, when is the last time we got patches two weeks straight for Franchise that weren't just bug removals, but actually added features? Pretty nice.
Good point. I can be as negative as most, but a couple of the things addressed have been sneaky nice, and it was completely unexpected. I hope they keep it up.

      Agreed.

But how sad is it that 'removing' a feature is an 'update' for this game?

The minute they came out with that, I thought, "This is supposed to be sim?"

Apparently I'm an idiot, but where did you go to toggle it off? edit-NVM...just saw it. Has that been there since the beginning?

I'm not personally impressed that a setting that can easily be toggled on and off had its default setting set to off. Pretty next level amazing that even made the list of things they did.

I'm more concerned that the January update doesn't include anything meaningful to me. I'm more concerned with them addressing CPU AI rather than head-to-head CFM stuff. I'm glad you guys got that stuff but I don't play against other people. I personally was hoping to see some actual franchise updates like working fatigue, better injuries, more robust anything, better CPU play. Whatever. At least someone's getting a bone.

Any gamer that is amazed and not annoyed at this type of update is the problem. Why do we have to wait 6+ months for basic upgrades or fixes to legacy issues that could have been fixed so long ago? All this was is change a default setting and you have people applauding it.

The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is today.

The game is better after this update than it was before it. There's no need to split hairs to make yourself unhappy about the game being better. Let people enjoy things.

Okay, but we can't go back in time to whenever this should've been fixed. Knowing that, what time is most acceptable for you?

To be quite honest im not sure this actually needed to be 'fixed' at all . The toggle has always been there to disable these pop -ups , an explanation of this and where to find it would probably have sufficed .

Having said that I would imagine it took minimal resources to change the default if people were indeed complaining so its no big deal .

More worrying is that they presumably did spend resources to have these pop ups show up during gameplay in the first place , which in my mind shows how out of touch they are with the franchise community .
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon .... No matter how good you are , the bird is going to **** on the board and strut around like it won anyway .

Same here man. I'm the first to call them out when they do a bad job, but we also have to appreciate them when they do a good job. And this is a good example of them doing more than expected.

I'm at a bit of a loss... wasn't this patch like 1.4GBs or so (on PS4)? Not sure how the changes described amount to a patch of that size.

Resources used to patch something that can be turned off in the menu settings? Why? Use those resources towards something new other than MUT cards and Yard garb. A user defined camera, maybe?

Often times PS4 / XBOX One games can't be split up in such a way that only the very specific files which changed during a title update are delivered in the patch download. More often than not you're downloading the same files repeatedly in a title update.

This has actually been a huge point of criticism of recent Call Of Duty games, where the title updates were massive because the developer had no such splitting of the game to enable more selective updates, so the patch files were 20+ GB (or much more) for minor changes. It's my understanding that Modern Warfare 2019 and the latest Black Ops game have addressed this somewhat, at least.

This game went from a lot of fun to a complete disaster with the patch previous to this one. I'm shelving it for the first time since launch.

There is no defense for either team except for the CPU making absurd interceptions 20+ yards downfield, clearly an adjustment to stop HUM vs HUM cheesing. I fired up the game for the first time in over a week and shut it off before halftime.

Tyreek Hill had a play where he was matched up with a 70 ovr CB with 87 for speed, lined in press coverage. Tyreek torches him off the LOS and has three yards of separation. There's no safety help. Without the ball being underthrown, the CB magically catches up to Hill 30+ yards downfield AND makes a leaping interception. Just complete nonsense. That stuff was nowhere to be found until the patch in question.

How about patching in the ability to change the other teams uniforms in franchise mode rather than needing two controllers used to be able to do that back in madden 12. Come on EA

Unless Im missing what you're asking for, this has been in the game for a couple of years now.
