I change the CPU's uniform in Franchise mode practically every game by using the method mentioned above by mercalnd.Jordan Mychal Lemos
@crypticjordan
Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 21 Patch Available Today, Disables On-Field XP Popups By Default - Pat
This game went from a lot of fun to a complete disaster with the patch previous to this one. I'm shelving it for the first time since launch.
There is no defense for either team except for the CPU making absurd interceptions 20+ yards downfield, clearly an adjustment to stop HUM vs HUM cheesing. I fired up the game for the first time in over a week and shut it off before halftime.
Tyreek Hill had a play where he was matched up with a 70 ovr CB with 87 for speed, lined in press coverage. Tyreek torches him off the LOS and has three yards of separation. There's no safety help. Without the ball being underthrown, the CB magically catches up to Hill 30+ yards downfield AND makes a leaping interception. Just complete nonsense. That stuff was nowhere to be found until the patch in question.Comment

I think it’s cuz the game recognizes you as the user if you use 32 team control. I noticed that last year as well.Comment

I always wonder if they do stuff under the hood, so to speak, in these small patches?
I just played a playoff game back on AM defaults with speed parity on 75 and it was a fantastic game all around. Even had an illegal contact penalty, not sure I've ever seen that one before... probably just in my head.Comment

I liked how it was originally so I've stuck with 75, but played with it at 50 for a bit and for me, seemed like the DB's would take odd angles chasing the RB or WR.Comment

CFM was framed as a football RPG. A Lot of it is built around XP and a lot of rpgs show xp gained. Not realistic but I think it fits their vision for the mode.

EA high ups see their target audience for the game as the gaming community at large , and whilst this was true in its early days when far fewer games and game types where available, the market segmented long ago to the point where sports games are their own niche and gamers in general have little or no interest in them ( at least this is true in the UK ) . Of course thats not to say gamers can't be sports fans and vice versa , but when you think about it , what is it that brings you to Madden ? You the gamer or you the NFL fan ?
Yes I am aware EA relies heavily on data , but any data can tell many stories depending on how you look at and interpret it and the context you use to apply it with
Whilst I understand them wishing to widen their audience , at some point they need to come to terms with this , their core demographic is now fans of the sport they seek to replicate , and sports fans in general.
This is still a wide market with many and various demands , especially as the original audience ages and is joined by ( rather than is replaced by as many seem to assume ) younger generations . What is driving the older generations away is more the state of the game rather than a desire to cease gaming.
New modes designed to appeal primarily to a younger audience are fine but at the heart of the game there needs to be a fidelity to the sport .
This is obviously true regarding gameplay on the field , but equally should apply to the fundamental framework around which CFM is built .
Realistic rules and mechanisms are probably in the large part no more difficult or time consuming to implement than the gamey simplistic things they chose to adopt , but they appeared to fear scaring off people if they chose that path . Why ??? They are part of the real world sport they are representing and people accept them there . What is needed is an authentic representation of the NFL , with possibly some RPG elements , not an RPG with an NFL backdropLast edited by briz1046; 11-21-2020, 05:37 AM.Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon ....
