Yeah I agree they made this change for no reason at all.
having said that knight what I've started to do since I'm creating classic rosters only is rate the players and change just the 1st name.
The game only changes the picture once you edit the last name.
So for example Larry Allen I found a good picture for him using an existing player
I rated Allen then on the profile his name will appear like this
First Name: Larry Allen
Last Name: Watson (last name of the original player I edited over)
Main menu name will appear Larry Allen Watkins
Do it that way and you keep the Player pic. Go into CFM mode once your done editing your entire roster and then you can remove the players last name.
That's the only way to edit the names from the main menu and save the face.
In CFM you can edit the names and the face sticks but most people edit Classic rosters outside of franchise mode 1st.
I will release the rosters once done and then anyone wishing to play with the rosters inside CFM just have to replace the last name.
If they don't care about CFM all they will have to do is edit the last name of the players pic will change to a generic face and just play.
Usually I'll assign the key players on each team a real Pic that is a close match so it won't be much work to do if anyone wants to change the last name later.
