I just played second preseason game Jets vs Falcons. I won 35-34 on two point conversion. Both me and cpu threw three picks each, all in the first half. Defenders probably do catch too good but I felt all picks were deserved. CPU’s were when they were under pressure and throwing off back foot. Mine were bad reads. But yea defensive players catch too good. We always hear when defenders drop picks they usually say if he had hands he’d be playing offense.

The irony in folks defending these interceptions is that they don’t address two things:

1) The AI is struggling to not throw picks as well. All Pro and All Madden - they are throwing just as many picks as the user.

2) Previous Madden’s have always punished bad reads at default settings. Always. And you see that reflected in slider settings over the years. So the idea that M23 is somehow even more realistic for MORE turnovers is poppycock.

Increased pass rush and better zone play IS more realistic. Super defenders and 5+ turnovers per game (player + AI) is not.

Agree with this, it’s not just us the user that’s throwing the ints, the cpu is to. I had Matt Ryan throw 3 against me in one half, sure 2 of them were kinda right to the defender but they felt forced instead of him just throwing the ball away.

But the 3rd int was originally swatted but the ball floated in the air and my defender was like a magnet to it and still picked it off. If I wanted to play arcade mode then yes I love that, but sim? Come on now

And makes it not sim when you user a defense that isn’t that great and you’re getting 3 ints a game

Curious if there is a difference in INTs in play now games vs offline franchise vs cloud franchise. I'm playing a cloud franchise and I'm ok with INTs. I do see the DBs drop balls, bat some balls and tip passes and pick some. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying there isn't an issue but just wondering. I play All pro, sim, classic passing and default sliders.

No, there is no difference. All defensive players catch the ball like they’re Larry Fitzgerald. Either this needs to be addressed via patch or catch ratings across the board on defense need to be dropped.

Not true.... McDonalds sales more burgers than anyone else combined does that mean there the best burgers?!?!?! Bottom line is it's all a matter of opinion like I said before people want sim and when they get sim they complain.

I’m actually still able to enjoy the game but these interceptions are not sim. I’ve seen receivers drop more passes than DBs drop interceptions and that’s just out of line. Again, I’ve played 98% of my games online so maybe that’s a factor but still needs to be toned down.

Nobody is asking them to neuter the game. Some slight adjustments probably need to be made.

Like I said, I'm glad they made CPU defense better. But it's simply too good. I don't want it like 22 either. But there can be a happy medium.

So how do we get to a point with no patches where we can fix this? Well sliders don't seem to be helping at all. I think if you asked people who are having this issue to a point where it's taking away the enjoyment of the game, they will say a patch is needed.

It would be different if this wasn't happening on pro as well, but it's happening on pro with INT slider set to 0. As well as CPU reaction and coverage lowered.

But anyway, I'm done arguing about this. Glad you are happy with the game and hope this doesn't become a severe issue for you like it is for so many others.

I'll keep playing when I finally calm down and experiment with different sliders and difficulty. I wanna like this game. I really do. I'm just so frustrated right now.

We weren't arguing, I was speaking to generalities and you were speaking to this issue. I was trying to relate that, in general, people are quick to ask them to change the game when they aren't used to a new system and struggle.

I have INTs for User and CPU at 100 and there hasn’t been any INTs in one full game! Compared to last game when I had it on 0, the CPU threw 4 INTs while I threw 5.

Excellent never thought of that. What great wisdom you have imparted. One final question. What’s your advice for the cpu vs cpu crowd where each qb throws five picks each? No user input. How does one make the cpu play better against itself?

Unfortunately I can't help with that, as I don't play CPU vs CPU... here's the bottom line this perception/opinion that there is to many ints is that just a opinion there are plenty of people who think it plays great. If they dumb down everything then you will have people like me who will think they ruined it. I love the way it plays now... One thing I will tell people is you have to also read the DB now if he is in zone and facing the QB and the rec runs a out cut you better believe that DB is making a break on the ball. Before what used to happen is the DBs back is turned and he would magically turn when you push the pass button. Read the DBs pass it when there covered when the CPU is in a zone D so when the pass gets there he will be open. As far as CPUvs CPU can't help there

In terms of user thrown picks I suppose you could justify that as an opinion although I wouldn't.

In terms of CPU thrown picks it's too many and that's a fact.

Personally I just hope they don't mess with coverage and reaction times. This is the first season of Madden in I don't know how many years I didn't finish first in points per game and yards per game. I finished middle of the pack in both. It's made the game more enjoyable.

They just need to adjust defenders dropping INTs more and going for swats instead of picks on every throw. That would reduce the INTs by half or more and people wouldn't even see it as an issue in my opinion.

I tweaked sliders for all Madden 11 min qtrs and dropped reaction time down to 40 and had a decent game, on PS5. Threw alot of short and intermediate throws with a few deep shots that fell incomplete. Running was ugly on my end for jr bit etn was better.

Don't know if other sliders affect things but have speed thresh at 85. Holding offsides and false start at 80 and Dpi at 99. Playing smoother and also had 5 penalties called so better than zero.
