I could have played 3 seasons if I didn’t quit out when there is too many picks

Same, I just can't deal with all of the pick 6's, last game i attempted, my scrub corner that I signed for depth had 3 picks 2 for td's before halftime. If this were a one off random player X having a career game then this wouldn't be an issue. But this is literally an every game type of problem. I don't want the coverages nerfed, I just want the catch percentage lowered. There's a reason db's don't play receiver.

I followed that game up with this performance. The ONLY thing different is I stopped using the “Cinematic” camera which is the default for player lock. This is Pro difficulty. My best passing game in Madden 23 by a wide margin.

This is all well and good. Some good points but the main issue for me is the cpu actually throwing too many picks. I’ve found myself just running OB after getting an INT to avoid getting 3 pick 6’s every game. Too frustrating. I rarely can even finish a game without quitting out of frustration of the INT’s on both sides

i'm playing a franchise as the Lions - CPU & USER int @ 15... in my last three games I've had one pick, and that was on a long ball as the clock was expiring with me up by 10.


i played alotta play now with all kinds of teams, and for sure there's some OP corners and safeties out there grabbing everything. Jaire Alexander had 3 pick 6 in one game against the bears.

it's not ideal, but maybe until the patch comes out, play with an inferior defense/ secondary?

i'm positive in the patch they'll at least fix the sliders ... hopefully they tweak the gameplay so maybe 3 out of every 4 potential picks are just defended/ batted away like IRL

ARRRRGGGGHHHH! These interceptions! I can’t cope with this at the moment. Cpu vs Cpu Kyler has thrown 3 INTs in the fist quarter all passes intended for DHop. Baker has thrown 1 INT in the first quarter. This is ridiculous.

That’s it…. I’m done!. Turned the game off at half time. I’m shelving this game until they patch the INTs. Kyler 5 INTs and baker 2 INTs in the first half…so sad that I’m giving this game up already. What’s the point of playing a game that you are simply not enjoying. I find myself more frustrated each time I watch a game. [emoji22]

I'm frustrated with the interceptions like everyone else. I have currently re-started my Bears/Vikings franchise game at least 7x, simply because Fields is throwing too many interceptions. I keep tweaking sliders each time, hoping something will change.

In Madden 23's defense, every single interception thrown was a poor-or-questionable decision on my part.

The thing that's different about Madden 23, is that if the CPU defensive back has a chance to get his hands on the ball, it is a 100% interception. That's with their INT slider, pass coverage, and pass defense reaction time all set to 0. So as everyone has noticed, sliders are worthless and have zero effect at the moment.

Besides that, this is the best Madden I've played in a while. It's challenging. I'm not throwing for 500 yards on All-Pro at will. I'm getting sacked, rushed, hurried on a consistent basis. The CPU plays defense finally. The only thing is that they need to give these DB's inconsistent hands, as opposed to having Deion Sanders level instincts, and Jerry Rice hands.

Lets think logically on this.

We are ALL playing the same game here, Madden 23, yet we seem to be seeing different things based on poster experience. Look at the two posts above, totally different to what I'm seeing but it's the same game we are playing. So that leaves a few conclusions:

1. We are playing with different settings. Sliders and settings can lead to many different settings for us all causing many different experiences.

2. We are playing on the wrong level. I've been an All Pro player (default sliders) for years but this year I've moved to Pro and have found my level.

3. Because of 2, people are forcing throws as they have less time to pass and are rushing things.

4. New passing system introduced which people need to learn.


I think we need to be listing our settings, skill level, any slider adjustments and what passing system we are using and saying whether we believe there's an issue with interceptions. The more of us that do it, a picture may appear which gives us a clue to what's causing some issues for some.

I'm All-Madden. PS5. 12 minute quarters. AI INT at 0 still saw 4 incredible interceptions against me from the AI in my last game, and three by my team

Your experience is spot on to what my experience is. As a former professional football player myself, and someone who has had exposure to the "real thing" this is exactly what I'm experiencing. All the interceptions I or the computer throw are what we call "bad balls." It's not always the movement of the ball (spiral vs duck or batted ball) but the placement. On some, I know when the ball leaves the QBs hand that it's an interception and I'm cursing myself for throwing that route. Some are 50 50 balls that get tipped or happen to hit the defenders hands.

The bottom line is, this is football. It's how things happen in real life at the pro level. If you make a mistake, however small, you pay for it. Also, some folks need to swallow their pride, and step down a level with the new game play. I played on All Pro from 17-22 and I stepped back down to Pro and found my comfort level. Unlike some, I play Madden for fun, and don't want it feeling like my playing days when it was a job.

Though there is one thing I'd like to see patched/changed, is the skill disparity between so/so coverage Corners/Safetys/OLBs and phenomenal ones. Corners like Ramsey or Deion for my back in the day folks, should be an interception even on the smallest mistake; whereas your 3rd string rookie corner shouldn't always be able to.make those plays and should be lucky to bat the ball to the ground. That's the only change I'd like to see made. Otherwise leave it alone

Just my .02. I've experienced the reality of playing the game at a high level and I think this years version is the closest it's been to the real thing in decades.

I’m sure that I’m losing it BUT I swear Exhibition games play differently from Franchise games. In 6 Play Now games, I have thrown 1 INT. In 10 Franchise games, I have thrown 22!

Well I don't agree, after spending a lot of time and making adjustments I threw for nearly 400 yards and 5 TDs, no INT with Brady against the Seahawks last night. I put on a freakin' clinic on how to Freeform.

However, before that I had thrown an INT in the same matchup and that quickly spiralled and I had to end the game as the Bucs were getting savaged.

So I am now not so much thinking INT is just the problem but also the momentum.

When I was Brady and threw a pick it seemed to snowball quickly into all sorts of interceptions.

When I was Brady and threw well to start and ended up getting a TD, then he went on fire and I was unstoppable, dropping dimes, lobs, fades.

I think my point here is that we are also dealing with a momentum feature that is overdone a bit and not just an INT issue.
