I would almost have to disagree with you on this. Please do not take offense but M21 with a mid to high 80s rated wr, they would automatically go up or extend for the catch. As would the DB. Yes these maybe considered canned animations but at least you had a receiver that wanted to win and come down with the ball. Some times it looks like in M23 that it's to much data to process correctly and their for the out comes is something un natural.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the AI DBs NEVER drop a ball and barely swat passes away. Of all my 23 interceptions they have never dropped one. They’ve broken a small amount up but almost everything is a pick.

It seems that turning both human and cpu sliders down to 10 is helping this year.

I feel like a lot of the complaint about interceptions right now is more a result of people still learning the new passing system than any glitch. That being said, it seems there are slightly easier interceptions this year. Overall though, I feel like the more defensive feel to the general gameplay is closer to NFL football than we’ve ever seen in Madden

Former dev said INTs are tuned unrealistically high to appease people who said dbs always drop the ball. So lower INT slider to the teens or lower.

I’m not using the new passing system. Still seeing a lot of INTs both ways.

On the User side, I’ve had at least 5 INTs today where my WR slowed down near the ball and allowed the defender to step in and make the play. It’s infuriating. I’m so sick of seeing “difficulty” implemented by simply dumbing down the User. I’ve played I believe 6 games total tonight, 3 of those were ruined by just some bit of complete nonsense happening. On one INT, my WR had about two steps on the DB and literally just stopped after the ball was thrown.

On the CPU side, a lot of INTs are happening off of hitch routes. Maybe it’s just luck or a coincidence, but a significant portion of picks coming against that.

I’m fairly certain interceptions are broken because I set the CPU slider to 0 just to test it and I’ll still get picked off multiple times per game. That shouldn’t happen if it’s at 0.

It’s bad, not even on the user side, the cpu is throwing so many picks to me. I probably average throwing 3 picks a game and also pick off 3 a game. Sliders at 0 for interceptions for both. They need to address this asap otherwise can’t see many playing for too long as franchise with QBs throwing 30 picks would be a game breaker for me and most

There are multiple things at play here. First, default slider values are way too high. Drop the interception slider into the teens or single digits. Second, many people are still getting used to passing with the new defensive play and are likely throwing late/forcing passes. You need to throw with anticipation more now than ever. Don't be afraid to dump it off or even take the sack if needed. Third, for years now user WR's will not make an aggressive catch attempt unless the user either throws a high pass or presses Y/Triangle to attempt the aggressive catch. WR's will always let the ball come to them unless you do one of those two things. CPU WR's will use all catch types on their own, but user WR's will not for some reason.

But seriously wtf? — Why do these threads always revolve around sliders and “legacy issues” and “bad ai” and never about how if you’re SUCKING HOTDOGS at passing maybe call better plays? Maybe execute better? Maybe go down in difficulty? Maybe stop sucking so hard? Maybe stop putting your QBA slider at 15?

Listen to me: if you can’t get your QB to put up good, realistic numbers I blame one, single person. Take a guess who it is.

Yeah, I'm throwing picks, but it's my own fault. Need to play more and improve my choices and timing rather than blame the game.

Third, for years now user WR's will not make an aggressive catch attempt unless the user either throws a high pass or presses Y/Triangle to attempt the aggressive catch. Or you could just simply go into coaching Options and change it to Aggressive catching.

That option has been there now for a few years and people still don't bother to touch it.

I'm pretty sure it's there for a reason but of course some guys will sit back and just go with the flow out of the box settings and then create a thread that WR's won't go get the bottom LOL
