    Exactly

It's either my players hands or the other guys. There is rarely a bat down, it's nearly always an int. I have 2 games where I didn't throw a pick, but that's because I maybe, maybe threw a ball over 14 yards twice out of fear of an int.

      4) Between the 4 Preseason games and 1 Regular season game, I can say in all honesty that every single interception I've thrown has been on me. I've been able to make some beautiful throws; but just as I stated in point #1, whenever I've been late or made the wrong read the AI made me pay.
Some more good points. This game is going to punish you now if you're late or making a poor throw. Maybe it can be argued it is punishing the user too much. Catch rates by defenders definitely need some tuning, but overall if you're making the right reads and are on time you're not going to have interception issues unless your throws are inaccurate due to pressure, throwing on the run, etc.

I think I've thrown maybe 3 interceptions in my last 5 games, and they've easily all been my fault except for one. I was using the Texans last night against the Chargers and it was a terrible mess and one interception was on a screen pass where Mills threw it right off of Tunsil and it popped in the air and was caught by a defensive lineman. I don't even want to talk about that game. I had never been shutout in a video ever in my life before last night. That Texans team is garbage.

Again, I'd love to see some videos in this thread that show the issues people are having. I would genuinely like to see if others have their game playing completely different from me or if there was something myself or others could help them with. I don't want someone to post a video and us just dunk on them saying they suck, but I think this thread has some good potential if the users who are having interception issues would post their interceptions so we could see if we could help each other out.

OS is a good community and if we can help each other out, that's great, and if there are legitimate issues some people are having that others are not experiencing, having a thread that has video evidence documenting the issues is also a great resource for the development team to use for any future fixes.

I think that's it. I believe Tiburon intended for an absurd number of ints to be thrown when using the traditional passing mechanic in order to nudge users into using the new skill-based passing mechanic for more success.

Seems a bit sinister but oddly explains a lot. Why pour precious development resources into a bullet-point gameplay feature that users have no real reason to try and learn? Makes sense to give them some added "motivation" do so.

Too many people, including myself, are used to throwing once the WR is open because that's how Madden has allowed you to play for years.

There comes a moment in this game, when you're playing, and finally everything just clicks.

fewer interceptions will come your way once this happens to you.

Despite if what I did fixed the high INT thing going on, I am absolutely happy that playing simulation is truly tough. I love it. I also might finally play online H2H this way because it's going to force cheeseheads to actually mix up their playcalling. I anticipate finding out that running a truly balanced offense is key to success, and that I won't just be doing so because I'm wired to be that way. That it's required.

Re: I’m Already tired of throwing picks cause my WR won’t attack the ball and i for a

I just threw 5 picks on Pro level difficulty. I'm learning the new skill based passing so I can say some of this is on me. I am also up for "usering" my receivers to make them more aggressive. However, 3 of these picks seemed "absurdly" unrealistic and that really got frustrating.

I had open throwing lane to a TE who was running a 10yd comeback. He ran it perfectly, I threw a bullet and the LB was shielded behind the TE. But, the LB warps through my player and grabs the "low" pass and is off to the races. This happened twice. When I threw the bullet pass my TE had just stopped and turned around and the LB was still back peddling. It was proper timing. Yet LB changed directions, warped through my guy and grabbed it.

This would not be so bad to me except as many have said, my dbs and LB play so soft as to give their guys 5 yd cushions and really don't contest anything. I had to watch the CPU qb carve me up with 19-21 passes. On Pro.

Need to figure it out but I had to jump in here as I have been reading this thread but did not appreciate all the frustration until now. And this was on "Pro" and I usually play All Pro but thought I'd step it down to get used to the new game. Not!

                Thanks.

The only issue I still have with the game as far as interceptions go is all the defenders, user or cpu don’t have stone hands. They will intercept every ball that hits their hands, even the low rated guys can sometimes make receiver type ints.

But I’m not having issues with my own wrs not being aggressive

So I think I found one of my specific issues. I don't know if this is a reason why others are throwing too many picks or not.

But what I'm doing is throwing too many bullet passes. On outs or corners, instead of lob passes, I just throw a rocket and any defender nearby can just snag it. If I throw lob passes there is a much better chance the ball goes right over the defender.

Played as the Browns earlier and Watson (I know) only threw one pick and it was on me for sure. Also threw two TD. One over the shoulder to Cooper in the endzone.

One thing I'm finding, and maybe I'm just imagining it but I don't think I am, is that on the placement modes the sensitivity of throwing touch vs bullet passes is quicker/more touchy, and it led me to throwing a lot of bullet passes when I didn't want to. Which often led to defenders nabbing them. For me I'm throwing less picks with classic passing. And I honestly don't find the pass aiming reticle necessary for most routes.

Also having low passes back on classic mode is nice, they come in handy for possession catches, especially in the red-zone, and are very unlikely to be picked off. The passing tutorial tries to say that you can do the same thing by leading the WRs down, but I don't agree with that because that takes them away from the first down/goal line.

TBH I think everyone is right to an extent. We all throw bad passes and make bad reads. But so do NFL QBs. And they often get away with it because most defenders don't have great ball skills or hands. Some do, but most aren't as good as even an mediocre WR, must less top tier WRs. I think this game would better overall and less frustrating, if defenders were tuned to have better initial coverage, but less leaping diving, bursting, interception animations. With more emphasis on breaking up catches. If the average defender wasn't very good at ball tracking/catching, it would also make the ones that are really stand out. Think about it in Franchise mode, what's the point of spending money on a CB like Marcus Peters when everyone can do that?

There was a year, I can't remember when, where they made interceptions a really risk-reward thing. If you weren't in perfect position, you would get a miss animation, leading to a big catch. Going for an interception is often a gamble, and Madden doesn't represent that well this year imo.

And you know what? I think they should just put a rewind/mulligan function back in the game. It's offline so who cares?

Also breaking up the int slider so you can set int aggressiveness and success separately would be great! Just a general overhaul of sliders has been needed forever.

I had that same issue while trying to get my coordination right with the passing meter and moving the recticle. To be honest, passing got easier for me when I stopped using LT.

Touch and lob passes are your friends. Touch passes have a different length of hold this year, so they take a minute to get used to.
