Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I miss the days when the “tuners” would come out and you could choose which one you were playing. I really like the way it’s playing for me right now on default all madden, and think everyone should have the option to choose what version they’re on for offline play.Prototype Supreme

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I still think AI QB play is better than it has been. My last few games (I won the 2023 season SB as Dallas, on All Madden) though, I've had the beating of AI QBs. A combination of better knowledge of what plays work, and play style to get to the right situation.
Still too many INTs from the AI by far. I got 29 in a season, 18 by Diggs. Along with 58 sacks, and 10 caused fumbles.I'm holding off drastic slider adjustments until we get a patch and see how that tunes things.Comment

Playing all-pro and haven't had a single game yet where the AI has thrown less than 3 interceptions. Its ridiculous.

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
Despite no patch, something seems to have changed.
I'm in my 3rd season as Dallas. The pass rush and secondary are better. Diggs had 10 INTs in 2023, and 18 in 2024 out of 29 for the team.
In the 2024 season, after seven games, Diggs has none and the team has five. I don't think it's so much an improvement in QB AI though, just DBs dropping INTs. I'm playing All Madden, and my defenders made the same plays the AI did - immediate changes of direction and glue on the hands. Now...they don'tComment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
Well I can honestly say the game Is playing way better post update today. Restarted a franchise and left sliders at default while simming preseason and played Jags @ Wash. Cpu threw no ints and neither did I. Run game was decent imo. I made a quick vid of the box score numbers I've linked.
Most int were usually during 2 min offense but also with pressure at times. Cpu made no dumb throws under pressure. Dbs swatted everything they were in position for without any warping into spots. I like where it's at with this patch an too nervous to touch anything.
I also play all offense with slow Sim, use custom playbooks for Jags, and have Allen dev at SSX an Db Cambell at SS.
Also recorded part of last drive by Wentz. He scrambled, moved the ball downfield, and ended the drive with 2 just out of reach out route endzone passes on 3rd n 4th.

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I don't have a huge cpu interception problem playing on pro level last generation. I have noticed that calling cover zero leads to a lot of them though.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I thought most of you guys were whining until I tried the trial. I really like the game but the interceptions are a bit high.
My interceptions were my fault, the CPU on the othehand was way too many. Small sample size but Zach Wilson throwing 3 by half to a very average Lions secondary is suspect.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I feel like since turning off intentional grounding I haven't seen as many back footed interceptions. However, curls/hitch routes, man the CPU just gives away soooo many games throwing picks on those.
It's a mix of the CPU throwing them way too late in the play, the WRs not boxing out or coming back towards the LOS enough (and CPU being unable to lead them), and DB's being able to jump them from almost any position.
And they're the worst picks to throw because if it's not a pick six it usually puts me right in easy scoring position.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
a tad lower or a tad higher than default, plus no accelerated clock. CB's set on play WR.
Pack vs Vikes in Twin Cities.
3 Int's the entire game, one questionable one from Cousins. The AI Cousins wasn't
pressured, but threw into Jaire covering Thielen. Jaire cut Thielen off and Thielen stood
ground with hands out. Rodgers threw a Hail Mary Int at the end of the half and
Cousins was blitzed and threw a another 1st half pick to Jaire. Those 2 Int's I have
no issues with.
Also, no comeback robo mode, either, so, out the door with momentum too.
Packers had a 4 TD lead going into the 4th quarter and won, 38 to 17.
I feel the tools that come with the game can help minimize Int's until the title
update arrives to fix the concerning issues.
One game small sample size, I get it.Last edited by roadman; 09-11-2022, 08:33 AM.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
Playing on All Pro, Simulation, default sliders, accelerated clock to 15 seconds.
Basically the only CPU quarterbacks who have done a decent job not throwing picks against me thus far are Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers. Basically the QBs have at least two of the following three things:
- 95+ AWR
- a Deadeye ability
- some ability which lets them not feel pressure
Tyrod Taylor also randomly did well against me while the Giants had the momentum bar perk which lets quarterbacks not feel pressure.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I feel like I’ve been wasting my life away with slider tweaks. I can’t get CPU QBs to behave realistically under pressure. Constantly throw across body into traffic resulting in a pick 6. At least a couple times a game. I put all qbs with throw ball away trait and it does not matter. Guess I’m waiting to see if they fix but maybe they want this behavior to occur. EA has not mentioned this as an issue at all which concerns me. I guess if Int slider worked it might be the answer. But no acknowledgement by EA makes me think it’s not an issue to them.Comment

Re: CPU Quarterback Play (Behavior Under Pressure, Interceptions) Thread
I'm pretty sure I'm averaging one pick six a game (CPU throwing to my defense). Most of these are indefensible decisions, throws to the flats to a defender just standing there or the stupid back-foot throw that is 10-15 yards short of the intended receiver.
Madden 23 games have come down to who throws the least amount of game-breaking interceptions, even with huge disparities in QB ratings.Comment
