I agree with this, the meter is quick to move positive for a team if they score but the next drive on the first play you could get like 50 yards and the momentum barely moves back down…only way it does is if you get a turnover or pretty much score.

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I agree when thinking about how it functions. I thought about the timing discrepancy and what not it needs to have a cool down. One thing that cracked me up I was playing Browns vs Steelers I ended up jumping up with a 31 point lead. Then with 2-3 mins left they got an INT and a touchdown. Magically being down 20+ points in the last minute they had momentum.
It needs to be timing based and honestly reset each quarter at the bare minimum

Last game I was up by 10-13 the whole game, but the cpu scored in the last 3 mins to make it a 1 score game. I was losing momentum and that made the rest of the game real tense. I appreciated it though. Felt like what real teams go through.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers
MLB - Los Angeles Dodgers
NHL - Los Angeles Kings
MLS - Los Angeles Galaxy
EPL - Newcastle UnitedComment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
From what I'm reading from these comments, It's as though every stadium produces the same in-game HFA Momentum application.
I agree that the feature needs to be retooled to provide more sound/realistic applications.
Playing on grass can produce running slower as to playing on artificial field that can have running faster, but that should be for both teams, not for/against a particular team.
Seahawks M-Factor of squiggly play art makes no sense because Play Art is User overlay, CPU doesn't use it
- running wrong plays/increased pre-snap penalties etc.. fits because 12-Man is known for their noise
A major issue I have with Madden, from an Franchise perspective, is that it's too easy to score/win games, which leads to M-Factors Thresholds triggering way too fast.
There's no true buildup to the M-Factor impact and it seems to be so Offensive centric, which further alienates Madden's issue with an strong Defense being seen/considered under the "Fun" factor umbrella.
At any rate, we need to get on Twitter and Madden Voice and let them know what/how we would like to see these M-Factors impact in Franchise Mode.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I've said this a lot, there is something to be said when I play a game of M21 and I love just being able to play football without all the boosts 22 and 23 have.
M21 with the M23 player models and scouting would be football gaming bliss for myslef and many others.Comment

I'm not totally against M22, but aside from Campus Legends I would have almost entirely skipped it.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I don’t know if I would say the feature is completely broken. I’ve had the full momentum bar at home and the cpu is still able to slowly chip away at it by getting a couple first downs. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t suddenly become a 50 ovr just because of momentum advantages.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I drive down the field and get a touchdown. Chubb literally bulldozes them all the way with like 6 rushes for 66 yds. Upon getting the TD and extra points it's now 7-3. Their meter drops to 50% full.
They drive down and get a field goal. Their meter is now 75% full.
I get another TD and dominate thema nd it is 14-6 at the half but they still have 50% momentum. I get the 2nd half kickoff and drive down for a TD. Their momentum drops to about 25%.
I hold them , they punt. No change. I drive down again, but this time I throw an interception to a warping through my TE linebacker. He returns it about 10 yds.
BAM! There meter goes full. They faulter and have to punt. I drive down and get a field goal. There meter barely drops. 27-6. They've hardly done squat except for 2 interceptions and only on of them led to 3 points. Their meter is nearly 75% full still. Residual from the int. Then I get another field goal and their meter is 50%. It's 30-6 and they still have momentum. It has never gone my way.
They end up with a touchdown before the game ends for a final of 30-16 with me dominating them most of the game, being the home team, yet never having the momentum ever swing my way. Weird.
During this entire game, beside their artificially boosted coverage, the other big thing was the WWE tackle animations. Chubb ran for a ton of yards, but every run ended with someone laying him out with a full upper body blast that sent Chubb flying to the ground. It looked stupid and it was happening over and over an over. I can't help but feel like momentum gives the CPU a big boost on hit power.
I am reinstalling Madden 21 and going to see how it was. Was the Madden 22 momentum meter this bad as far as swinging way too much boost to either team? I don't remember this level of weirdness.
Thanks for reading!Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
Not only that. The effects of the first pickoff charge the opposing team up for the entire game and the momentum is near impossible to get back. I was the Browns at home vs the seahawks. Seahawks get an interception in the 1st quarter and the meter goes to nearly full. I hold them to a field goal. their meter is 90% full.

Exacerbating things is that 'offense only' mode means that simulated plays never contribute to my momentum.
I had a game where I went into halftime winning 10-6. Start of the 3rd quarter was SIM'd, I get an INT for a touchdown, kick off, CPU goes 3 and out, and I get the ball back. It's 17-6 in my favor and the opponent somehow has a 100% full momentum meter.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
Momentum meter completely in MY favor - MY kicking meter disappears, every single time.
I've been making a list of the momentum meter "advantages" as well, and they are all contradictory, unrealistic and just arcade features. In the same game, if I get momentum, the field degrades for the other team (which is stupid because if a field degrades, it affects both teams), but if the other team gets momentum, their first advantage will be that they can run faster than I can (because the field is magically not degraded or whatever insane logic that is)!!!
Make it make sense. That's all I'm asking. I don't want to sound like a *****, but I'm about to join the "this isn't simulation" train.(...brought to you by Carl's Jr.)Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
This is my biggest problem with the game, you have a turnover or allow a touchdown there meter is 75 percent filled causing whatever affects but you go score a touchdown to take the lead, there meter only goes down 15-25 percent, but vice Versa your meter could go down 50 percent even if your up bigA diehard FALCONS and HAWKS fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment
