In addition to that I don't think the Jets should get their momentum half boosted with a single score. That's pretty routine. Maybe after a defensive stop and a second score that would make sense. After the 2nd score the momentum was about maxxed out. That's like saying you let them score twice....now we're going to make you play the rest of the game with everything 3x more difficult for you. If they have to keep momentum then they have to find a better, more subtle way to implement the effect.

I think there's a modifier boosting the Jets momentum a little more to account for them being on the road at Arrowhead Stadium, one of the most notorious places to play.
There could also be something boosting their momentum gains for being the lesser rated team on the verge of a huge upset.
In fact, I'm willing to be both of the above are true.Comment

Jets momentum meter. Score any way possible = meter half full. Don't punt on any one possession = meter stays full. Win game = Zach Wilson's mom runs up next to you in post game celebration on the field.(...brought to you by Carl's Jr.)Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I just started ignoring the meter. I do agree that it leads to more ints but you just have to take it for what it is and try to enjoy the game.
Not saying it’s not an issue, it just doesn’t bother me enough to kill my enjoyment of the game.

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
Piling on a bit here, but I think it's emblematic of how flawed this feature is.
I was online as the Bills vs the Eagles, in Buffalo. I threw 2 consecutive pick 6s, so naturally momentum was full against me, which triggered a penalty in that my players would get confused by hot routes.
So now I have the ball back, it's 4th down, and the opponent comes out in an overload blitz look. I'm in the shotgun and my halfback is literally a yard away from me and cannot be hot routed to block. He's acting like it's too loud to hear my QB from three feet away, at home. Dumb feature.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Same with me. The game plays great until the meter favors one team. Then the QB throws 5 interceptions

I would say, it's a good feature that hasn't be really well executed.
I actually find the feature to be fun. I like having the game make it harder for me to come back. Too often, I could get down by 14 to 21 points, and just "turn it on" to win the game. Now, I know a deficit is a real issue.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I like the momentum meter, I think it's pretty real to life. M23 just has it turned up to high.
I spent some time watching the meter in my cfm game last night, ad it's pretty accurate when momentum swings happen, meaning, the swings happen appropriately, but EA needs to turn the meter down by about 75%.
There should be times when you gain big momentum, and times, where you earn just a slight bit of it.
A routine td on the road it's going to swing momentum your way by 50%, but if it swang the momentum by 12% it would make much more sense.
Just my uneducated opinion."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
Count me in the group that thinks it is the root of many issues.
I was playing my third game since the patch to try and see if the game is finally playable and the game was going well through one half of football. A 14-6 game that I'm losing vs Dallas. Then Rush throws a pick 6. I have all of the momentum and 3 of his next 4 passes are to my defense, 1 being another pick 6. The game was instantly ruined. All that time wasted because the mechanic causes too many issues to pop up.
Like many things with EA, I don't hate the idea, only the implementation.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
It has basically made playing vs the CPU in Franchise mode and having competitive games.....damn near impossible now.
Too many times.....I am having great games and then I get momentum half way or filled and the CPU simply goes into “dumb as a box of rocks mode”
Josh Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers.....tossing pick 6’s like they are a good thing for their team.
It has ruined what is a really solid game of football.
Shelved till we either see this toned down or CPU QB AI fixed. Something. A toggle to have the option to turn it off is ultimately what we should have. We should not be forced to play with it on.
It is a true shame. I really was enjoying the game but I cannot look the other way anymore. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
Someone please explain to me how an M-Factor that creates squiggly lines or impacts the kick meter, plays a role in interceptions.
From the way it seems to be framed , the OVR feature itself is playing a role in INT’s, no matter the M-Factor.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I hear you. I have the very same issue. Game will play great, then momentum favors one side and then every procession is a pic.
I can’t believe the game has been out 2 months and this is not fixed.
So I wait to do start a new franchise until they do. If they do. $100 down the drain.Comment

Re: Momentum meter seems totally broken
I'm still having the opposite effect being on Rookie level. When I have halfway-to-full momentum in my favor, that's when any turnovers (less INTs, more Fumbles) occur. It absolutely feels like the code is designed to help the CPU get back in the game.(...brought to you by Carl's Jr.)Comment
