I've been thinking about this while reading through various threads....why can't EA offer up an open beta instead of a closed beta?

I'm just thinking about how MLB The Show did it, everyone got a chance to play the game early and there was no waiting for a code, and there certainly weren't folks wanting to buy a code.

What exactly is so secretive that the beta/demo can't be open for everyone?..also to say the beta can't be discussed? don't understand that one.

I do think the close beta drums up some hype for the game. Look at all of us trying to get codes and talking about Madden. And we aren't the only place. Not saying it's right or wrong though.

Yeah it's 100% a marketing campaign. They get #Madden24 trending on twitter by telling everyone who wants a code to tweet it. That doesn't happen with an open beta.

I guess I just feel that as soon as the draft comes around, folks start wondering about the next Madden, and possible info...As release time gets closer and EA reveals their first sizzle vid and more info trickles out, the hype at that point is already being generated (imo)...

I think it's just like having limited inventory on a hot item like when the PS5 and Xbox's came out. Limited inventory produced a frenzy and hype and must have.

Limit the supply to hype up the demand. I bet a lot of the Twitter folks asking for beta codes are just finding out that there was even supposed to be a beta. I’m sure a lot of people are only asking for it because they see others asking for it.

When did they have a sign up because this is the first I'm hearing about a beta sign-up for Madden 24. Was there info released that didn't get traction or was it a secret that you had to actually check ea's website to find at random.

I do get its a marketing strategy for a closed beta. Some companies can have it wide open and still sell regardless but madden is hanging on by threads so I doubt they take that risk atp.

If any sign-ups are out can someone post the link and if not, ps5 code wanted if u have it.

Whats crazy is I have received emails for the past 2 maddens just by being on the email promotional list. Is what it is though and I'll be patient and wait on a free code.

My only gripe is not having beta discussions so it's basically being in the dark until vids start being posted.
