Re: The 10 Worst Player Ratings in Madden 24

Michael Thomas has an 84 rating despite having 55 catches for 610 yards and 3 tds in the last three seasons combined
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

This feels like the biggest outlier. Good catch!

Mostly tongue-in-cheek but shoutout to Nickel Robey-Coleman who was ~78 last year despite never getting off the Lions’ practice squad; now this year he’s a 71, which is higher than several current Lions DBs including Jerry Jacobs. It’s just like, bro, he’s done, 71 my butt lol.

        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I don't understand some of the ratings either.

Matt Judon had just half a sack less than Hasson Reddick and Myles Garrett and both of those guys are over 90 and he is at a 89.

Then, Judon had the same amount of sacks as Chris Jones and Jones is almost a 99.

Josh Uche getting an 81 after 11.5 sacks is wild.

Ryan Tannehill is like the 20th best QB but didn't play bad last season. 6-6 in 12 games, 13 TDs and 6 INTs. QBs with outright losing seasons had higher ratings.

What is this based on? Jones has looked like he's taken a huge step forward in training camp. He's also finally got some offensive weapons (STILL no true #1 WR). Sans Thomas the entire OL was a mess ever since he's been drafted. There was no Saquon for ~half the season as well last year. The Giants offense as a unit should be a huge improvement barring some bad injury luck.

Jones is one of the only edits I make before I start my franchise and I put him at around 80-82 to compensate for the inseason training where he is also one of my focus players.

Put some respect on Daniel Jones name! "That's my quarterback!" *TO voice!*

Jordan Love being a 70 with normal development feels wrong. I know he hasn’t played but theres just no way he got worse than his rookie year, it’s like the years of development don’t account until a player performs.

For comparison purposes Desmond Ridder is a 70 overall but has the star development.

What did love start out at in his rookie year?

I'm not sure why Ridder has star dev when he hasn't proven anything yet.

I'll use percentages to compare here as Jones played 16 games, whilst Lamar played 12

                  Passing

                  Jones: 67.2% accuracy, at 6.8 YPC. 15 TD / 5 INT, so a 3:1 TD/INT ratio

                  Lamar: 62.3 accuracy at 6.9 YPC. 17 TD / 7 INT, so a 2.5:1 TD/INT ratio

                  Rushing

Jones: 708 yards, at 5.9 per carry, 7 TD in 16 games (.42 TD per game)

Lamar: 764 yards, at 6.8 per carry, 3 TD in 12 games (.25 TD per game)

How can there be a 16 point disparity between them? I get Jones doesn't attempt the big time throws, but that just never looked like their gameplan last year. Who's he going deep to? Darius Slayton? David Sills V?

You’ve clearly never watched Daniel Jones and Lamar Jackson play. You can’t just look at their production for last year on a piece of paper and say oh yeah they should be like 3-4 points apart. What an absurd suggestion.

No one has made that suggestion. We've all just stated that Jones is better than the 21st ranked QB in the NFL and should be rated accordingly. Not knocking Jackson or suggesting that he is not a great QB. Nor are we saying that there shouldn't be decent separation in the ratings of the two of them. Just saying that Jones is better than he was in years 1-3 and that IS based on watching him. He is better coached and is finally reaching his full potential. And with a better OL and more weapons, he should easily continue to ascend in the actual rankings, even if Madden doesn't want to acknowledge it.

Did you even see the guy I quoted, that’s exactly what he did. No clue why you chimed in. I never said he was rated too low, never said he didn’t deserve a bump. All I said was looking at stats on a piece of paper and saying he should be rated near Lamar because they had similar stats is a dumb way to look at ratings. But I know, reading is hard [emoji29]

The ratings they missed the most:

                        Mike Thomas Saints - overrated.

Byron jones is a free again whom in real life has retired because he can’t run or jump literally. Sad story but he is an 82 and he provided this news during senior bowl

                        Deshaun Watson - 79

Nobody take account this guy hadn’t played football live speed for 23 months. 1/03/21 last game with Texans 12/04/22 first with browns

He took at 12 point hit for 6 weeks.

I could justify a 78 if he plays poorly the first 8 games of the season. Because theoretically if he does just play average but compared to his contract it is deemed poor” then where does he go 77-73 with Pickett/ jones/ Purdy/ stafford (who is also slightly underrated)

But if he performs as a top 10 qb does he go up to 84-85

                        Moving on

                        Odell is also overrated.

Kadarius toney is overrated. Glorified off 2 weeks with the giants. Can’t stay healthy or produce. 77 max

Austin Schwartz overrated guy should be around a 63

Allen Robinson is also overrated at 79 (rated better than jahan Dotson and cristian watson)

Claypool should be about a 73

Alec pierce should probably be up around 76-78 range (claypool is better than Alec pierce LOL

Lots of guys valued incorrectly if you ask me.

You were acting like the guy you quoted was using those stats to say that Jones should be rated the same as Lamar. He was just using his stats as a comparison to say that for at least last year, Jones played on a similar plane as a much higher rated QB. So hence, a 75 rating is too low, which is the point of this whole discussion. That's all. Pretty simple.

Believe he was 71. Hard to believe 3 years of development he'd be worse off. He's not a shiny new toy and he lacks stats from his first 3 years

I paid a lot of attention to Michael Thomas last year because I had him on my fantasy team stashed until I gave up on home coming back around week 8. He was actually VERY good when he did play last year (I know I know).

He had 3 touchdowns in 3 games played. The yards weren’t impressive at 171, but he certainly past the eye test even though he was hurt

To be clear, I’m not trying to discredit Lamar, and I understand you’re a Ravens fan so you may have taken my comments the wrong way. So I’m sorry it upset you.

All I’m saying is that is seems kind of crazy that there could be that big a difference overall wise given how they both played last year. And yeah the stats back that up. Jones was a Top 12 qb last year by QB rating and most other ways they grade quarterbacks.

This wasn’t an attack on Lamar, he was just a good comparison as they both use their legs a lot.
