fun fact:

if you lower the resolution all the way down, and put graphics at the lowest settings...you get the nostalgia of NCAA '14; i almost want to keep the settings this way

This is correct, I turned my crowd down to Low and it allowed everything else to ultra and max, even the MSAA-4X, and it looks fantastic and super smooth

I was thinking of trying DSR, but it hammers my frame rate so much I typically stay away from it (I like my locked 60 FPS).

Do you recommend turning antialiasing off and just relying on DSR to do all the work?

Okay so I would start with 1440p (1.78x on 1080p). Then go to Manage 3D settings in Nvidia Control Panel and Anisotropic Filtering - Set to 16x.

In game, use FXAA (MSAA x2 would be best when its working if can hold 60FPS).. I would recommend lowering crowd from ultra to medium (I looked and looked and you do not even notice a difference when playing, atleast I do not), you will gain significant gains at medium or lower.


FXAA is still better than off and there is no performance hit really.

I think there is more variation and a little better textures but I swear you do not notice a thing different when actually in gameplay. I still have yet to really notice a difference.


Absolutely not enough to warrant such dramatic drops.

I went into NVIDIA control panel and set triple buffering on and vsync. Turned those options off in game

Use the latest 398 drivers

This didn't work either.

I am at wit's end with this ****. I lowered the resolution to 1080p, all options on lowest and it still stutters LMAO

I have minor issues as well

I think its due to not having a overclocked gtx 970(never bothered)

Nvidia panel is all over the place as to what works. Yoiu can set it globally but then it will ruin other good working games(in my case a lovely 4k pes 2018 fully modded to look like tv broadcats! yay)

that all said

I do this I play in 1440p
60 fps LOCK
NO antialaising
ONLY 3d grass
meshs at medium
shadows at ultra( look bad even in high)
crowd low

I still get microstutters but the drops are at 57 nothing more

Scared the crap out of me the first time I loaded up the game. I thought my Madden PC experience wasn't gonna last long. Crazy tearing in the intro.

Vsync cleared it right up

In the meantime, is there a command line option to disable that stupid ****ing intro? If I hear "STOP ME STOP ME OH SOMEBODY STOP ME" one more time I'm going to put a fist through the monitor.

Agree 100%, was really hoping it would be simple to just add my own soundtrack to the pc version (without using Spotify) the soundtrack is absolute trash this year

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. This might be the worst soundtrack I've ever heard in a sports game (or video game, period), and that's no exaggeration. It's horrendous. I miss when there was actually a great mixture of music (Madden 08, the last one on PC, did it right).

Yeah....I'm not a fan of the soundtrack at all. I mean I'm sure there are plenty of people who like that music and that's all good and fine but I at the very least really wish the option never would have went away that allows people to use the NFL Films music instead.

I imagine if modding is figured out on PC, this will be one of the early mods created lol.
