Re: Welcome to The F.D.U. (Fictional Draft Universe) PS4 - Madden 19

Hey guys, sorry for another delay lmao. As you may know the forums were down for a long time on Friday. Not sure when they went back up cause I had a flight to Michigan to catch and then a nice drive to South Bend. After a long day of traveling I am home. Didnt bring my laptop so i couldnt post the scouting report yesterday. But here it is: https://docs.google.com/presentation...it?usp=sharing

I am going to go ahead and add a couple of touches to it but all the info is there. The next scouting report will prob look different because this style just doesnt work as well as i thought it would for NFL players even tho it was good for the NBA prospects. Also I didnt have time to add in other things such as league leaders and players returning to school because of the time crunch. Expect those things in future scouting reports. Also not all of the expected undrafted players are listed as it would have taken a couple more hours to do, so remember there are legit guys i edited that will go undrafted.

I hope you guys understand the amount of work that goes into editing a class in addition to putting out a scouting report. This isn't the NBA where there are only two rounds. There are a LOT of players to account for. Respect the grind.

Does anyone have any house rules for using these? Like no scouting, just rely on the scouting reports given. Or should I spend scouting points because the reports can be misleading
Thanks, looking forward to using these

I would say go ahead and scout. Trust me, you will find guys that you would think would be a 78 overall in a typical madden class but will end up being a 72 overall bust. If you read through the scouting report closely you will see little hints at stuff but the hints might actually mislead you.

Is it recommended or would it even matter to use the scouting points on these draft classes or would you suggest us just going by the scouting reports that you post and such? Thanks for putting in all the hard work and time into this project, BTW!

I would say go ahead and use your scouting points. A lot of players are going to look good but the majority arent going to be those studs that are usually so easy to grab in the EA generated drafts.

Still FDU1RED as the file name? I can't find it in search

Nevermind EA was screwed up. I found it. Smh.

I downloaded the draft class yesterday. It has been pretty cool so far, definitely a little more realistic than the auto generated classes.

Any idea on when the next class will drop? I am already at Week 3 of year 2 and ready for the next one haha

I was just about to start my franchise and plan on using Yuri Vexen's roster. Will that work with your classes or should I just stick the the EA roster?

I'm curious about OL/DL weight.. You've got 1st round pick projections for several OL in the 280lb range, one top 5. DT's as well.. I know linemen are trending slightly leaner and more athletic, but of all the OL drafted last year, I think 2 or 3 were sub 300lbs, and those were still in the high 290's

                      Thoughts?

I went off of the EA roster when creating these, but i haven't taken a look at Yuri's roster yet so i can't say whether it would work well with it or not.

Yeah, this was something i tweaked with a lot. I felt the player models for guys 300+ pounds were just a touch too big and bulky compared to what the actually players look like at heavier weights. Weight doesn't affect anything gameplay wise so I decided to lose a little bit of that realism aspect to gain the more realistic body build. Obviously there is personal preference and if you guys want to you could go ahead and change OLine weights as you please as it shouldn't change the gameplay experience.

That's actually the reason I expected. I agree with you completely about the body shapes getting weird at realistic weights.

Are we sure that weight doesn't affect momentum/inertia for blocking? That would be ridiculous if that was the case.. Freak size/speed guys are so valued because the force needed to move a big body like it's a smaller body is an indicator of physical dominance.

75 speed at 265lbs vs 75 at 340lbs should be drastically different when they run into things.

I can't 100% say it doesn't affect anything cause I don't work for EA but with the testing (I use Armor & Sword's sliders btw, good set imo) I didn't notice anything different with the eye test. All I really noticed was changing the ratings was the only clear difference when testing.

You got me wanting to take a further look into this tho as I want to see how indepth EA actually goes into and cares about how realistic their product is. Not sure how much down time i'll have with 2k19 coming out along with doing these classes, but if i get the chance i think ill do some testing and take some notes.
