Re: Playmakers Madden 23 Pro Level (Classic Passing) User vs CPU & CPU vs CPU Sliders

Played 1 quarter as the Packers v Card's. Murray fumbled on the first drive and I recovered for a TD. He then threw 3 straight pick sixes so after 5 minutes I'm 28 v 0 up and my offence hasn't got on the field yet.

To be honest none of the plays looked bad with players standing around or defenders jetpacking to the ball but doesn't fill me with confidence.

I usually play on pro as well so I'm not a great player but something isn't right.

One thing I do to make kicking harder for me on pro. Is to not aim the kick I just use the kicking meeter doing that I miss kicks all the time

I will definitely do this instead of sim. Going to go into practice mode though and see where I need to stop roughly for aiming.

If I played offense only for my team, would you recommend using cpu sliders for my defense? Basically creating CPU v CPU?

(There are two slider sets posted on the OPs…is one of them intended to be CPU/CPU?)

            Human Pass Block-0
            Human Run Block-0
            Human INT-0

The above 3 Sliders are no longer needed to assist Human Player.

CPU Run Block-100 (This gives them a chance to sustain their blocks longer vs Human DL and it'll be the only CPU Slider that I Max out)

CPU INT-10 (Started to see more drops/swat attempts if they didn't go for the pick)

CPU Pass Reaction-75 (This one is huge because it speeds up the CPU's DL Pass rush moves and allows them to decrease your time in the pocket)

CPU Pass Coverage-90 (I went back to Maximum Coverage boost for them since I dropped their INT Slider)

            SPECIAL TEAMS

With this set I highly suggest you Slow SIM All FG's because we can't separate Kicking Sliders. My Settings were more geared towards CPU Kicking game.

Your Kicker will then be on equal terms with the CPU Kicker and trust me once you take out Human Control on your FG's it's going to be amazing because now if your kicker is not highly rated in accuracy your going to start seeing some misses.

After you make the following updates these should reduce some of the glaring issues with the CPU's rushing attack and the Human OL being too strong.

In many ways for some of you I can confidently say that these might even make you forget that your playing on Pro level after you take them for a test drive.

Our sliders are very close with a lot of values......I am really happy I moved to Pro on 23. No switch is fully viable on Pro. When you play this way for almost 20 years I was disheartened on All-Pro I was forced into becoming a switcher and user control players again.

I think folks need to understand you gotta use your entire playbook, use coaching adjustments, stick to no switch diligently and play a real game of football.

The game is beautiful in motion.

I also fully expect a patch to smooth out frame rates (on replays they are atrocious) smooth out some tackle animations and fix the interception issue of DB’s never...I mean never dropping them.

However like you said...on Pro I am seeing a lot more swats now. Especially when I use the coaching adjustment to swat. They will still go for picks....but nearly at the rate if you leave that adjustment set to balanced.

Madden 23 has the potential to have a long shelf life for me this cycle like Madden 21 did. If I get 5-6 full seasons in a franchise.....win win.

If you let the meter go to the left more they will kick it left and if you stop before the middle they will kick right

Maybe reboot your system and replay that game and make sure your team gets the ball 1st to avoid that wonky 1st drive crap in the game this year.

I actually didn't even post in this thread about the coaching adjustments to set defenders to swat the ball.

I created a thread on the main forums but I didn't think guys were interested in doing it so I didn't bother posting here LOL

But yes I set it up myself and see less INT's more swats in the right situation.

Yep Sim it but put it on slow SIM for just those plays and you'll see the actual play on the field from the broadcast view of your kicker.

If you just SIM it that won't take into account the sliders setting that the CPU Kicker's are using.

                        Hey Gambo

Maybe there is some confusion here

I have just one set on the Front page very 1st post. I haven't posted the CPU vs CPU Sliders yet.

ON the front page it says USER/CPU

That just means 1st settings under USER is what the USER is playing with and 2nd side under CPU is what the CPU is playing with

                        For example QBA

                        USER is 5 & CPU is 65

If I'm not mistaken when you just SIM the defense I believe your using the human defensive sliders and not the same defensive settings as the CPU but I could be wrong. I've never really played it that way (Offense Only)

Yeah I think the best option is to Slow SIM FG's

ONce you start doing that and watch the game play out for you on all kicking plays your probably not going to go back to USER kicking because your going to see all kicks that rely on your kickers ratings only.

I might even have to bump it to 70 to help the CPU on their distance range but I need just a little more testing in CPU vs CPU to make sure 65 is fine.

I didn't think you had a CPU/CPU posted yet, I figured the 3rd (or 4th) post was your original testing and not a typo.

Yeah, if it's anything like in the past, when not playing it defaults to CPU sliders, at least that's the old method. So if you play offense only (which is pretty popular actually) I think you should be using for HUMAN, User offense/CPU Defense, for AI, CPU offense/CPU Defense...ie your defensive sliders will be the CPU column for both human and AI. (Once the CPUvCPU sliders are set that is)
