Are you sure about hat? I always thought that the most recent patch includes the code form all previous patches with it?

OK, from doing a search Ian does mention freezing but it's a bit vague

Ian, are you getting rid of all the freezing? Franchise and in-game freezing? Or just franchise freezing?

And what about ghost wide receivers?

The game will go from say 1.0 to 1.1 with the first patch, and 1.1 to 1.2 with the 2nd patch. When you put the game in, it will prompt you to update your version to 1.2

This is the way it was with NCAA anyway.

Yeah sorry I might have "mis-typed" that.

My point is you will get both patches whether it's from 1 download (2+ patches combined into one download), or it's separate downloads, you will get every patch ever released for the game.

Not sure if they are combined or not, as I've always downloaded the patches when released. Either way, yes, you'll get all the patches.

Not only is this not true, it categorically incorrect. It was MS that eventually came out and told EA that they would not stand for players being charged for things in previous versions of games (see: alt uniforms in the PS2/XBOX versions for free vs charging players for DLC of the same stuff).

Has it been determined that there will not be a patch 3?

Any new additions/gameplay changes might be included in DLC?

Basically what I would like to know is:

                1. The (Y) catch button will not be enabled for All Pro or All Madden?

                2. The hook zones will not be adjusted (to play closer to the LOS) like they were in NCAA 09?

                3. QB accuracy will not be tone down?

                4. We will not have the ability to play ranked games on All Madden?

                5. The speed cheats for defense on All Pro and All Madden will not be removed? ie. a 92 CB running faster or as fast as a 97 WR?

I believe Microsoft only "allows" developers to patch a game twice. It's trying to avoid situations where companies release 4, 5, or 6 patches.

So this means EA had better get it right with this patch. I really just want them to fix the robo-qb, AI, CPU running OOB and any freezing and player progression issues.

They have released the details of patch 2. It is assumed that any additional bugs or gameplay issues wont be addressed until Madden 2010.

What I don't understand is why they don't hold off on the patch until more issues can be addressed, since this is going to be the last one.

Are you sure about this? I could've sworn that there was at least one year, which I thought was 07, where EA did charge for alternate uni's in Madden and stadiums in NCAA? And if that is the case M$had the ultimate say so to put the\at stuff on Marketplace. I also know for a FACT that EA had DLC guns and money for The Godfather and maxed out players and extra courses (when there weren't many to begin with) in one of the Tiger games.

If I remember correctly all of this stuff was released and then there was a public outcry over how ridiculous it was. Then and only then did M$ release a statement that they thought the practice was unfair. BUt they are the one's that released it.

because it cuts into both the development time and budget of 2010.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It's a fine line to walk. As it is now, the second patch is coming out in mid-September (a full month after release). I love Madden '09, but I'm not sure I'm willing to wait quite so long for the last update.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that Sony and MS will "approve" the DLC.
