All I can say is that's alot of big talk and I hope Madden 10 lives upto it. I don't want this to be just another new Madden hype train that comes down the tracks every year and doesn't deliver. There are certain things we have been begging about for over 4 years - officials on the field, realistic gameplay, a true NFL presentation that is upto the standards or surpasses NFL2K5,NBA2K9 and MLB The show. Its time to deliver - I just want a football game that finally surpasses what was in NFL 2K5, you know what the true NFL fans and sim fans want, now bring it.

It's great when a company is transparent like this; it generates excitement for the product and builds a stronger bond with its customers.Comment

Re: [EXCLUSIVE] Madden NFL 10 News!
Your game would need the following to make up for the last half decade......
- Pile-on's for fumbles.
- Refs and chain gang on the field and sidelines.
- No sliding animations.
- Online franchise with detailed stat tracking and the ability to up load draft classes from NCAA.
Good luck with that.Comment

But, if you want to state what you don't like about a game, why you don't like it and what suggestions you have to improve those aspects... that's what we see as "constructive criticism". Just thought this was an important point to reiterate with the new Madden forum ground rules...
PS - In no way am I pointing a guilty finger at you, you just happened to make the post.Comment

Oooh! I second the "piles-ons" for fumbles! I like that one. Can we get some sideline interaction amongst players? Guys Hi-Fiving, laughing and tripping out, show the kicker practicing for a potential FG situation and you guys at EA were really close in Madden 06 with the game-winning fg scenario. You know, when the screen turned black-and-white with the heartbeat/controller vibration for drama? This time, make a split-screen with both coaches looking on as the field goal is tried. Show winning and losing team reaction.
Show the sideline reporters talking on the field as well. Make that morphing like sound when a team scores (i.e. like they do on NFL on CBS!) small touches like this matter!Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...Comment

That's just the thing... we don't want pointless "venting" here, as that often means insults, attacks & bashing. This may very well not be what you mean by "venting" (you could be talking about Coors Light), but we want to be very clear that coming to OS to "vent" your frustration by trashing a game, its developers or other users isn't kosher.

I think they're looking for that type of feedback and will ultimately help the game. I look forward to another video showdown thread between Ian and LbRulez...which hopefully will finally show us Video Game football is moving beyond NFL 2k5Last edited by SteelerSpartan; 01-30-2009, 12:09 PM.Here We Go Steelers!!! “Everything you see on Sunday, see it in Madden NFL”.
Followed by....
"feel free to call us out if anything doesn’t stand up to our new mantra."
That's a lot to swallow for anyone, let alone the hardcore community of sports fans who visit this site.
I wish them nothing but the best of luck and hope they're able to blow everyone away when they finally show the game off around Draft time. However, I'm not naive enough to forget the past.Comment

Re: [EXCLUSIVE] Madden NFL 10 News!
Ian, now thats heading in the right direction! Glad you guys are doing everything to make this game better, what it should be..
Ian one question though, Is this a screen shot of Madden NFL 10?? Because for some strange reason the player model on this screen shot look very good, like they are more realistic and proportional then Madden 09?? Does anyone agree? The knees, shoes, pads on thighs, size of the head and helmet, all look better. I really hope the players models improve overall..

Re: [EXCLUSIVE] Madden NFL 10 News!
It certainly sounds like you guys have your heads screwed on straight. Let me just say this...Focus on the gameplay first and foremost. When you have that down THEN you can focus on the rest.
The running game in '09 was very frustrating for numerous reasons. So many times I felt the computer was "cheating" by how quickly they could blow up the play. It was like my players refused to block. On sweeps and toss plays my running back couldn't get to the edge without being tackled by a defensive tackle. I dont know how to fix it...but the line play HAS to get better. I want a challenge, but I don't want to feel like I am getting "Tecmo'ed."
If a linebacker blitzes and go through untouched....so be it. But don't stop me for a 2 yard game EVERY SINGLE TIME just because I am on a harder difficulty level...that is unrealistic.
Good Luck!
