Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
So we can create busts and sleepers just using those systems. Drafting a player in the top 10 will no longer guarantee that he is a great player in Madden NFL 10.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
I am not sure if this has been brought up yet but I have a few ideas to improve franchise. For starter let us sign position coaches because I believe those are the ones to really develop the younger players so why not include those. Then as we all know everyone has to be on the same page so when hiring coaches make it so we can't just go after the best of the best. Make it so we have to look at the coaches style and sign those whos schemes are similar. For example Lovie Smith loves to run the cover 2 scheme so why would we hire a defensive coach whos strong suit is the 3-4? Doesn't really make sense to me.
Now to take it one step further and use the same strategy for players. I shouldn't be able to just go and pick up the best of the best free agents because they don't all fit my scheme. So lets say I am the Steelers and run the 3-4 defense. Well Tommie Harris just became a free agent and even though he is a pretty good 4-3 DT, he woudn't fit well in my 3-4 defense. I could go out and still sign him but his rating should go down because he isn't as valuable on my defense as he was on Chicago's defense.
Another thing to bring back is moral and have different types of players (team player, team leader, selfish etc) and have those player types affect the team. So if you have TO on your team, maybe your team doesn't play as well because of his "me first" attitude. Also having those types of players could affect how your rookies develope for that position. So a rookie receiver may not develope as quickly with a TO on the team as he would a Torry Holt or Marvin Harrison. That could also be another attribute for a coach. A coach could have the ability to set a player straight (kind of like how Belichick has kept Moss in check).
Well that is all from me gotta go to work.
P.S. Great job so far on Madden 10, can't wait to play it.Comment

Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
That's very true but what about bringing in a guy like Haloti Ngata to a Tampa 2 defense? He is more of the bigger, more physical, yet slower defensive tackle and wouldn't fair as well in a Tampa 2 system. I see what you're saying though but in reality some guys just won't fit well in certain systems and that is what I was trying to get at.Comment

Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
Typically the Tampa 2 (what Lovie runs) is ran out of a 4-3 and relies on speedy athletic players. If you brought in a defensive guy who is used to running a 3-4 defense he might not adjust well to the Tampa 2 defense. Of course since the Tampa 2 is a simplier defense maybe it would be the other way around where a Tampa 2 defensive guy wouldn't adjust as well to a more complex defense.
The 3-4 is typically all about athletic defenders. In 3-4 schemes the Mike typically drops into spy zone coverage anyway, so it's not a big change to drop the Mike into a deeper zone.

Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
True so a 295 pound Tommie Harris wouldn't really fit into many teams schemes because he isn't a 350 pound beast. The main job of the whole dline in a 3-4 is to just plug the holes and protect the linebackers. So to bring in a guy like Tommie Harris to play NT in a 3-4 should result in a decrease of rating because he doesn't fit the system. Basically Tommie would have to be switched over to DE if he would want to really play in a 3-4.Comment

I'll get this updated sometime tonight. I've gotta lot of writing to do, really want to get my overall feedback down in print while it's still fresh in memory and I'm rested. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

Eh, honestly Head Coach wasn't a very good game - just the concept was. I got it with the anniversary pack, but would have been mighty upset had I bought it just by itself.Comment

I agree and I stopped playing that after the first couple weeks along with madden...The franchise mode was everything you could ever want in a madden game tho but of course there were some flaws in it that if they do add a HC like franchise I wish they would address...Comment

Re: MADDEN 10 Updated Info Thread
I'd like practice mode to actually feel like practice. It isn't like you gotta put them in shorts and pads, but i'd like some downs to work with instead of restarting in the same spot thats just stupid. Situations are good for getting prepared. Like time, down, quarter, etc.
Just wish they could Make practice feel like practice instaed of a re-do of the same play in the same spot.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment
