Seriously, what has Colt Brennan done in the NFL to justify higher ratings in your eyes? I mean honestly the Run & Shoot doesn't translate to the NFL
Says the guy who thinks jason campbell deserves a rating over 80

To be fair every redskin player should be a 99 (well except Colt Brennan).

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

Just saw the Ravens Ratings. Donny we need to talk.

I think Tavarres Gooden should be rated higher actually. Gooden, Barnes and Jameel McClain should actually all be faster than Ray Lewis and I think Lewis' speed is right. Also, this is not the complete roster. Where are the following: Jason Phillips, Davon Drew? Our 4th round pick in this past draft Jason Phillips while not listed here, on the Excel sheet that they released earlier this year you had Phillips at a 68 ovr which is higher than Gooden, yet Gooden has the inside track on the starting position. I also think Jameel McClain should be higher as he is competing with Gooden; at least as high as Antwaan Barnes. All three, Gooden, McClain and Barnes should be a 70 ovr.

Other than that, somebody tell me how Todd Heap is faster than Demetrius Williams when Williams is probably our fastest WR barring the Achilles injury? Willis McGahee is not a burner, but he's got more speed than Todd Heap.

Again, this is not a big surprise. A fan saying people on his team should be rated higher... yet no one should be rated lower. Big surprise.

look back at my eagles complaint, i did so ask players to be lowered.

and LBzRule I thought the exact same thing about DW, and I'm not even a Ravens fan.

O look another completely pointless post. Seriously, if you dont agree with him then post your reasons why you think the players should be different from what the OP said. Dont attack the fact that he may be a fan of his given team because it really does kill any type of debate or conversation about player's ratings. Last I checked this is the thread to talk about player's ratings and if someone thinks they are off then let them post and stop replying in such a nonconstructive way. If you cant post in a proper manner that is constructive then you really should not be posting at all because its posts like this that stop any type of communication.

Are you kidding? I'm not making the same claims as some other people are making. I'm making the claims based on people on the SAME damn team when it is public knowledge that Todd Heap is not faster than D Williams. Ray Lewis' speed is right, but he is not as fast as the younger guys: Gooden, McClain. But on this roster set he is. Would you dispute those claims? I don't think anyone on the inside or outside of the Ravens looking in would dispute those claims. I'm asking the ratings to make sense based on the Ravens not any other team. Hell I wouldn't even care if the OVR moved at all, but the speed ratings are no where close to accurate. Neither is strength. How is Joe Flacco stronger than Linebackers and Safeties? That's crazy man.

Very true about all the points you make. However, I always thought that ratings differed per position, meaning an 85 speed TE was not as fast as a 85 speed WR. However, it would be nice if we could get some confirmation on this.

Yeah I've thought about position specific ratings. But after thinking it through even if that is the case it still does not solve the speed differential between Mason, Clayton and Williams. He should be faster than both of them and he's not. It also does not solve Lewis, Gooden, McClain either. I wouldn't care if their ovr moved at all. But they need to get their speed ratings right.

I'm looking at the Steelers ratings right now and I have a problem with Timmons and Farrior's speed. Well maybe they can just increase acceleration. But those are pretty slow for Farrior and Timmons IMO. I'm going to check acceleration because if they are not going to increase the speed they at least need to increase acceleration especially for OLB's and pass rush DE's. This might be global rather than just team. Let me look at all of them.

                        Saw the steelers ratings

Mendenhall needs to be faster than an 83 i believe he was a 4.3 40 guy at the combine

Steelers offensive lines pass blocking is too high remember this is the worst oline to ever win a Superbowl.

Lawrence Timmons needs to be rated higher to about 83-85 and made faster and Farrior is now longer a 95 overall i would say about 88-90. Timmons coverage also needs to be raised hes their best cover linebacker and Steelers pass D was greatly improved when he entered the game on 3rd downs

I dont know how you could translate this to a video game without making the steelers complely inefective on offense.Id rather have high unrealistic rating to the line than have big ben getting blown up on every passing play. Although big ben went down alot last year the oline really seems to shine when the game is on the line, again how could you translate this to a video game UNLESS you came up with a new rating something like a players 2min clutch rating

well over 40 sacks allowed by the oline and the steelers couldnt run the ball as well as the years past so I would think this oline would be rated down a bit and will force the CPU and the individual to play with the steelers the way they steelers played last year and thats with defense and big ben making plays when he had to.

But madden is mostly and offensive so its very hard to win with defense.

The percentage that the Steelers Oline let up compared to the small amount of times they were good warrant them to have 70s in their pass block ratings. The higher the rating the less they will let pass rushers though. If it was not for big ben then they would have let up a ton of more sacks. He evaded and threw on the run while being hit countless times.

The steelers oline was average at best for pass blocking but they all almost have 80+ pass block strength and a couple of them have 80+ for the other pass block ratings. The average starter with the new rosters should be in the 70s and they are average blockers. I will give them they played against good defenses but they gave up a lot to those teams and performed like an average player. Average players get owned by superstars but their current stats would give them a slight edge when IRL they did not have this.

To better represent how the steelers are IRL they should they should lower their pass block ratings and Big Ben already has a 97 TNR(throw on run) and I would feel comfortable upping that to a 99 because he deserves it.
