As far as the video... I saw some good, some bad and some ugly just as expected.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I won't know whether they're going to get my $60 until I hear whether multiple camera angles and in-game saves have made it in. There really wasn't anything in the video that influenced my purchasing decision one way or the other.

There's a lot to like, but honestly Hammond's commentary brings the whole excitement of the game way way down for me. He sounds absolutely atrocious. That Dallas TD should have been exciting and a huge momentum shift, but all you get is a bland, unnatural call. I've heard him call real games and he sounds much better.

I'm sorry, but it's freakin' 2009 and we still have to endure boring commentary once again. It's been how many years since 2K's football debuted and it's still one of the best out there. Forget real life broadcasters. As others have stated, bring in no named actors and let them provide the commentary.

I'm excited about the gameplay enhancements, but really just upset nothing was done with the broadcast.

New commentary should be the absolute number one priority next year, bar freakin' none!

I can see what some of you guys are talking about in the video regarding the pocket. I think the rushers are taking weird angles to the QB, and the "suction" thihg is still happening. I think that is why the pocket looks a little off. Notice the LOLB in this series of pictures from the video:

I completely disagree. What would be the point of having the lead designer waste a day or 2 answering questions about the vid? That won't make the game any better. It takes probably 20 minutes to skim this thread and find what the major gripes are. As long as he can either read that info himself or have an intern do it there is no problem. He doesn't need to have an extended dialog with us. Half the people won't believe what he is saying anyway.

Any jackass can register on this forum and post 'HEY IAN THE STAR IS UPSIDE DOWN x30' or 'OMG THAT CB RAN BY THE QB INSTEAD OF SACKING HIM'. As evidenced by how many threads had to be locked since the vid was released... I don't think he needs to send everyone with an issue a PM explaining himself/his game/his team, just so the complainer can rest until they find something they dont like an hour later.

I swear that some people on here have nothing better to do in their lives and literally put all of their hopes and fears into the yearly Madden release.

Some people need to have a long hard look at what they are saying, it's quite irrational. It's only a videogame. And what's more, probably a very good one at that.

Be patient, take a deep deep breath (don't forget to breathe out afterwards) and go and get some sunshine, maybe a cool beer. In the real world. It's Friday, be happy, forget about Madden for a while. You'll feel better for it.

My guess is that this build had generic QB voices, and Romo will have his same cadence from 09 in the final version of Madden 10.

I'd love to agree with you but what is worrisome is the fact I believe McNuggets cadence/voice is correct.

Yep I liked it too.


Also, is the black transition to the cutscenes something that IGN put in? I asked because they used it when skipping through the field goal kick and also in other parts.

Like is that actually how it is in the game?

I hope not. After TD camera work wasn't in the Alpha so I never seen this black screen stuff. I hope it's just editing.
