Its nothing like the last gen engine which was much bettter than this one. It isnt even a matter of comparing it to another comapnies game. I am comparing it to itself.

JerseySuave4 - Oh, I didn't have issue with what u said but to answer your question, if u didn't already find out, it's at the 40min mark that they start talking Madden.
I must reviewed what they showed a million times. They showed the defensive side of the ball cam, I believe for the first time, on that show....

As for this clip from IGN, it's encouraging to hear from Ian saying that the vid is two weeks old and seems like it's so different from where the game is now. Shwwweeeeeettt

Then you add it in a way that's part of the game. As a banner, or as a 'sponsored by' commentary during the half time or replay show. You don't just put blatant ads in your game. That's ad ware, not a video game.

Judging by the vids the kicking meter looks like it works the exact same as last year. I mean the madden team is doing a great job with everything this year but can we get a challenge in the kicking game.

Judging by the vids, its the same meter system, the same kickoff right, left or middle plays as well. No squibs, no returns that involve end arounds to other players just the same thing. "sigh"

I'm sorry but after watching the vid I'm not impressed. Like others have mentioned it looks like 09. Its sad when the best part of the game are the cutscenes. The players just dont look right. The players in "the other football game " were twice the size. EA needs a whole new game engine cuz this one is old.

No no no, remember what happened the last time they supposedly built a new "engine"? The game was stripped bare and we are still to this day slowly getting everything added back in.

Honestly this is one of those things that makes me wonder how they get it wrong in the first place.

The important thing is that they correct it.

The ribbon board at Dolphin Stadium was on the wrong level for four straight years. Its placement has finally been corrected for Madden 10, and I'm thrilled.

Ian please tell me that RUNNING BACK PLATES & FLAK JACKETS ARE IN THE GAME! It looked like Barber was wearing one in the vid but it's hard to tell. It would be a shame not to get these in to go along with all the other new accessories! If they're not in please add them before release or via patch post release.

It was already confirmed that we would have the same kicking system awhile ago. It sucks but it was not high on the list of things to do.

@Workinonit24 yep, known. No pro-tak steering in the build for that video. But pro mode's pocket will be 'slightly' exaggerated in final...

That confirms that:
a) As stated earlier it is a 2 week old build (no Pro Tak enabled)
b) It was on Pro mode

FYI - crowd noise was 100% broken in the build those guys used to capture this video.

It's crazy, this video is about 2 weeks old and it already looks totally out of date to me because of all the recent changes we've been making to gameplay. It still is a good showcase of many of the things you guys should expect to see.

What's up with the commentary? I thought that was going to be addressed in Madden '10?

Im glad we can turn off the fumble mini game i just didnt enjoy it.

I like seeing Romo talking on the phone and Chris sounded great just like last year.

the sponsorship doesn't bother me, but...

This game is presented by snickers... WHO REMINDS YOU TO............. BE A CHOMPION!

It's the sort of thing that drives you crazy the 100th time you hear it.

OK, after watching the video just once (I'll watch again tomorrow), my initial thoughts are:

1. My first thought upon seeing gameplay was "this looks just like 09...I'm not getting this game unless there are gameplay camera options to shake things up a bit".

2. The presentation additions are very refreshing to see.

3. Hammond still blows.

4. The sprinting still looks too rigid...robotic. It just doesn't flow.

5. Nice pass pocket.

6. Nice animation of ref pulling guys off fumble pile and making the call as to who got the ball. The one lineman flying over the top of the fumble pile was a bit much, but...picky.

7. Along the camera options line, the view of the gameplay still seems too far back to really enjoy the the best part of next gen Madden thus far...the graphics. I want to be able to move the gameplay camera in, choose the maximum setting on Auto Replay, and really enjoy the graphics of the game.

I'm not sold based on this video, but like I said, I'll look again tomorrow and keep monitoring for camera options updates. That's going to be huge for me in deciding purchase or not.
