Now that online franchise has been officially announced, I was jumping and yelling for joy,calling all my friends,getting hyped up....until I thought about something...
YES colored cleats,flak jackets,presentation,online modes and the like have been addressed...so now the only thing left to wonder is????

HOW IS THE GAMEPLAY???
Is the WR/DB interaction better? will man to man defense be good this year? Will the Rocket Catch still be everyone's method of choice to move the ball? Will they fix the running animations? After some rough vids,will Pro Tak look authentic and not choppy and sliding? Will game sliders be a factor for a change? Will star players seperate themselves from average joes?

All these great things we've seen so far will mean nothing if Madden's gameplay hasn't improved,so let's not get TOO stoked yet my fellow OS brothren,let's hope the GAMEPLAY is vastly improved.....your thoughts?

We will have a pretty good idea to the answers of your questions with in the next day or so

Okay, my balloon is now about to pop with excitement. I'm not even an online type, but O.F. looks smokin hot. But the presentation in that vid is something that just sealed the deal for me. Coaches, tailgaters and fans walking around. Man... And, yes, I know that other games have had it before, but never Madden! Not to this level. Game, set and match, I'm sold. Just get the gameplay tweaked right and maybe make the movements the best you can tweak them, and this game will be headed for SGOTY-consideration.....

I agree..but honestly -- with gameplay, its nothing tooo major IMO...

I think the Rocket Catching needs to be tweaked in the worst way....but who knows what will happen with that...because in one of the pics with TO getting clipped in the picture by the cowboy DB...it definetely seems as if Rocket Catching is still in...

and if thats the case.....

I no the online community will feel my pain...

That seems to be your cut and paste answer to any worries or problems people have had with the game. You cannot just ASSUME that because we percieved these things as missing or problematic, that Ian and his team has "fixed them"...locomotion, in fact, is NOT being fixed this year according to a statment from Ian himself.

And many problems have carried over several years, and not been fixed yet, so it's just not safe to assume anything!

So does anyone know how free agency will work with the bidding. Will everyone place a bid for a player during their own time and it goes to the highest bidder or does everyone have to be online and make it in the format of a live auction?

I'm just worried about not personal schedules not allowing players to get online to bid for that franchise-changing FA.

I have seen all the blogs and there were issues such as chopping,clipping,and the wr/db interaction IN AN ACTUAL GAME has not been seen. So I'm really stoked for gameplay vids from E3 to see where the game is fully on game play AS A WHOLE.

Phil, Ian, and the rest of the Madden team seem to have really focused on game play this year. I can't guarantee that because I didn't play Madden 10 yet, but judging by the Pro-Tak blogs, the improvements to OL/DL interaction, and the promise that a head coach should be able to pick up Madden and beat a tourney or long time Madden player, leads me to think that game play was the top priority this year. The Madden team said that they wanted to shut up people complaining about 2k5's game play being more realistic than Madden's, and I believe them. All of this will be answered when I play the game.

Not exactly...I haven't seen anything official like that...

The closest thing we have gotten is "better WR/DB Interaction"...

....But that doesn't really say too much...and I know Ian nips things in the bud pretty fast about certain "Exploits"/Design flaws/Bad Physics like with the FB Dive Blog he did waaaayyyy back, or like the WR running out of bounds on routes toward the sidelines, but nothing solidly about Rocket Catching....

I mean, its not like a deal breaker for me...but man I wish he and the team addressed it--or at least come out and say something about it, even if they couldn't get it figured out over before the final product in madden 10...

I just dont want to pop in my m10 on Aug 14th and have someone abusing me with that catch already and be caught off guard...

I'm afraid you have a shorter memory than I do my friend. I have seen them tell me about things like sideline catches that never worked like they promised and for years about adaptive ai that's never been felt.

The haters like to say "EA, if it's in the game, it in the game-just not all the time." for a reason.

I want the gameplay to be great but have not really seen it all work properly in any vids to date.
