The results of my little test are rather interesting. First, the overall combined stats for Collins/Flacco:

    12-28-4INTs-1TD..called back for holding.

The pass plays: time to release/result

    3.0/inc
    2.4/int

    3.1/Comp...holding penalty
    1.4/Screen complete CJ
    3.3/Inc

    2.8/Comp Heap
    2.9/Inc.

    2.4/Inc.
    1.8/Screen complete CJ

    3.2/Int. (Harper)
    2.7/Inc.

    3.0/Int. (Reed)

    4.7/Inc.

    4.0/Comp Scaife

    2.4/inc
    1.8/McLain
    1.9/Mason
    3.3/inc
    3.0/Mason
    2.9/inc.
    2.6/Williams
    2.3/Peerman
    2.1/Williams
    5.1/Inc.
    2.6/Inc.
    3.5/TD....holding
    2.8/inc.
    2.0/INT.

This averages out to less than 3 seconds from snap to throw. Additionally, quite a few of the passes were thrown under pressure. The pressure also caused a fair amount of incomplete passes.

I know the blocking and line play does not appear to be perfect, but based on the results it seems that it may be less of a problem that a lot of people think.
Yes but these results are of when the ball is snapped to when the ball is released... many times the ball is released under no pressure and the clock will still stop i assume.

The point is that it seems the QB could have just stayed in the pocket for alot longer than the times indicate.

I realise that often it's only about 3 secs but in game it just feels like so much longer... i don't know why but it does.

Let me just reiterate to you Ian and EA that I love what I have seen. The presentation and cut scenes really add so much and are the biggest thing I wanted this year. Coverage appears to be improved a fair amount, and I love the slower gameplay. C IMO this appears as if its going to compete for my favorite madden of all time. Ian many hear like and noted others are giving some constructive criticism like pass rush etc. However lets not lose the main point over the few clowns in here, this game is overall a strong showing and has me amped for August 14 or earlier:wink:

Ian thanks for the video. Things are really getting better. The presentation, the tackling, the lighting and shadows in the stadium look great.

In all honesty I'm buying the game every year, it's that or talk to the wife another 6 hours a week. Uggh.

I also have faith that Ian and Co. will do their best to put out the most realistic football game they can within the time frame they've been allowed. There's really no "fine tuning" going to be done to animations 3 weeks before going gold, because they aren't gonna' mo-cap anything at this point, so maybe your "brain power" ain't all you claim it to be.

Do the running animations vary from player to player ? Because Chris Johnson looks like he is jogging, while Mouton's running animation on the pick 6 looked much better.

PLayers do get sucked into plays alot in the nfl. It ain't no bug. you are right me friend. People think if a player gets sucked in a fake are something it is a bug. It ain't If happens in real life.

Also you'd think Lewis and Reed's 99 play recognition would start to play a role, but when he runs it again, Lewis crashes to the FB. Reed on the other hand the first time it was run it was cover 0, the second time he was the deep safety and he does not do a good job of coming up at all. You say it is not a bug, but it is.

It happens on more than just this type of run. If you look at the video you will see it on a lot of the running plays. Guys just standing still waiting for the blocker, I mean not even moving. Actually if you look at the very first video, the very first play, off tackle play. Watch Jarrett Johnson. Sure the run gets stopped, but an OLB has to move. Johnson should have gotten up the field and forced the run back in to Pryce. Instead he stands there motionless and waits for the blocker and lets Johnson go right by him.
I guess we have different definitions for what a bug is. To me a bug is an unintended consequence of programming. Your complaints (and I agree with them) are simply a matter of the programming not living up to your standards of realism. To me, that doesn't qualify as a bug. But this is all just semantics.

In my honest opinion you need to get rid of the entire running animation system, it just does not look realistic.
Players cut on a dime, slide their feet, swing their arms to wide, etc. etc.... I have no idea in the world how anyone can like the way these players move it looks horrible.

Like how can you look at this game and say it looks realistic? Madden has had 4 years on next gen & this is still what they bring to the table?

Ian Cummings you want a better realistic football, spend the WHOLE year working on animations for Madden 11. Sure you have great presentation & everything else but once the players start moving on the field it looks unrealistic.

Have you ever played Nba 2k9? For the most part it looks like a real Basketball game, 2k sports to me has always had some of the best animations. It's a true shame that their is only one football game out rite now every year.
I'm a die hard football fan & I must say this game just does not look real.....

I pray the Ea license gets destroyed so more Pro football games can be made!

Hit the nail right on the head.

I've said many times that Madden has made some nice improvements but the biggest issue I have is the animations. I just won't be able to look past them. When I have a breakaway TD I want to see my player run for his life. Not see him joggin.

Overall the gameplay was okay, just things like depth chart, player models and player numbers where things that where wrong

Is that suppose to be John Harbaugh??? It looks nothing like him<O</O

Kelly Gregg and Ngata are not big enough. Gregg looks really thin and he is very wide. Ngata legs and arms are far too small as well<O</O
                                <O</O

Ngata being pushed back by Michael Roos, wouldn’t happen in real life on a running play as it did many times in this game<O></O>
                                <O</O

What happened to “players play to strengths and weaknesses like never before”, <?xml:namespace prefix = u1 /><u1:City u2:st="on">Baltimore</ST1lace</u1:City>’s defensive line is one of the best in the league and they where getting pushed back on running plays. <O</O
                                <O</O

Le’ Ron McClain is not big enough, the guy is built like a tank<O</O
                                <O</O

Ray Rice wears 27 not 39<O</O
                                <O</O

Why is David Hale starting? If Yanda is inured <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<u1:City u2:st="on">Chester</st1:City></u1:City> will start and I have seen <st1:City w:st="on"><ST1lace <u1:City u2:st="on">chester</ST1</st1:City></u1:City> in this game so he should be starting<O</O
                                <O</O

Also why isn’t Gaither playing LT and Oher playing RT, I can only presume he got injured but if he’s not this is a joke, Gaither – Grubbs – Birk – Chester – Oher is our starting offensive line, we don’t have a retired RT playing and a back up RG starting

Flacco stance and throw looks amazing<O</O
                                <O</O

                                Crowd is great
                                <O</O
                                <O</O
                                Love cutscenses<O</O
                                <O</O

On the goaline in the first quarter the ravens wouldn’t let a huge whole open for collins to flop over in for the TD, very bad AI and ravens would never allow that TD in the fashion they did. What happened in video 4 on the goaline is much more realistic against the ravens
                                <O</O
                                <O</O
Love the unbalance line that the ravens use<O</O
                                <O</O

Ravens offensive line looks too small, Matt Birk has a huge upper body and Grubbs is a very big man with a very thick mid section and legs, they all look rod thin
                                </O
Did I say that I love Flacco’s dropback and throwing motion, its perfect<O</O
                                <O</O

Michael Oher looks way too thin. His arms and legs are huge. He is built like a truck, not fat but huge arms, legs and very thick. Looks skinny here<O</O
                                <O</O

Its pronounced Na – ta not N – ga – ta, Haloti Ngata is a top 3 DT in this league and his name is pronounced wrong. That’s just silly<O</O
                                <O</O
